According to some other watch reviewers, the bezel is ip coated. The bigger one is aluminum.

Technically I don't believe this is a mechaquartz. With mechaquartz the reset behaves like a mechanical movement and snaps back (8T & VK series). The reset is the mechanical component of mechaquartz. The sweep second hands (usually 1/5 seconds) is controlled by the electronics. It's not mechanical. Also the hands can not be recalibrated using the crown/pushers with a mechaquartz.

Applied markers - nice. Itty, bitty, unreadable date - not so good. Move the date to midway between the 4 and the 5 and it could be somewhat enlarged. I have a Presage, same problem. The date is a small hand at the bottom. Itty bitty gold numerals on a brown dial. Also unreadable. I'm surprised someone like Seiko would let an obvious design flaw like that be produced.

I think it's not so much the size but the depth. The solar collector layer is above the date wheel in the sandwich.

I've seen the fakes. They often use real pics of the real deal. You. Can see the shiny plated zinc on the customer reviews though.
