SEIKO Solar watch not charging ( watch need to be reset ) 2022

Wow! So I have to comment as well! I’ve had my watch v172 ‘dead’ for about 5 years. Charging it on direct sunlight didn’t work. Took it to various watch repairers who refused to take it because this is solar. Seiko salespeople told me to send it to New Jersey. Called Seiko and they only gave an address to send it to. But it I it took 5 seconds to fix I! Five seconds! Five! You’re the man. Because of you I have my watch back. You made my day! I’m so happy.

No need to press the up and down buttons, just pull the crown until the watch turns off, then dry it in the sun for a few minutes.

Try to charge it over the Sun, outdoor. Then do it my method. If fail, the rechargeable battery need to be replaced.
