I was strongly considering this one. Wanted a Willard and also a white dial (sort of with this one) and it looks good with that particular blue aluminum bezel. I do like that light blue in the second hand, too. But, ultimately went with my first gut instinct and choice with the original olive green version (SBDC111). I think for this style, and it's historic tie in to military history during the Vietnam War era, the green seemed most appropriate for a modern reissue that wasn't just a basic black and steel color.

Very nice Rob. I just picked up one of these limited edition willards (A$1350), have worn yet. I reckon they put some bounce back in the bezel so you can align it - I prefer this to misalignment but yeah not as notchy as you'd expect. At least the chapter Ring is clear and avoids this problem too. PS heaps of sales and deals these days.

When finally Seiko will come to offer a micro adjustment clasp, so I will buy more of their watches... I'm living in a continental country where the air pressure can change four times a day, and the size of my wrist as well, the micro adjustment clasp is not a whim, it's a pre-requisite.

I love Turtles the most: crown position decreases the risk of penetration/digging in the back of your hand considering the 43 cm size, and the dials of save the ocean in particular are smashing. The only reason why I chose Prospex Save The Ocean Diver's 1965 instead was the smaller size, and perhaps cause I am a blu-ish, dial among other things, kind of an individual!

umm, this is the "frozen glacier one" 😂 . It's dial is literally called a "glacier dial" by Seiko. If you take a closer look, you'll see that the dial is textured and has a white/silvery sheen so that it resembles a frozen glacier. Hence, "glacier dial".

Way too expensive. There's great Swiss options at this price point and options with ceramic bezels. Seiko has lost their mind with their pricing in recent years.

The 3 o'clock lume at that outer position is extremely awful. The calendar window could be moved to 6 o'clock position.

Love the looks, but $1,350 for a watch with -15/+25 seconds per day accuracy is a bit much.

Watch Dives makes an arguably nicer replica with a ceramic bezel that has a sharper look to it. same exact dial texture. the only difference is the tiny little light blue dot in the seconds hand that watch Dives does not have.

I realize they are not the same quality but why can you buy a $70 watch on AliExpress where the indices lineup perfectly every time yet here on this $1400 Seiko they don’t? Great job, Seiko. 🙄

@@ezeztztztz The Steeldive 1970 feels surprisingly solid actually, but of course it’s the pretender. Owning 1 has made me want a real 1 more, though it is very hard to justify sometimes 28 times the price (I’ve seen SD1970 for under €50 delivered in sales) for similar specs. It’s my cheapest watch and 1 of my faves!
