Good review - I have the gold version 775 which is excellent - between 1 and 3 seconds plus per day, but how you place it at night can regulate the gains or losses (i.e. face up - slight gain, side crown down - slight loss, side crown up - bigger loss). My go to watch.

Nice vid, but keep in mind that the original Turtle also came on a 22mm strap. I think most hardcore Seiko fans would have been very disappointed to see this watch on a 20mm strap. Also in my opinion it would look a little bit weird to have a diver and especially a watch with the width of about 45mm on a 22mm strap :)

if you want some smaller, how about seiko mini turtle? that's 43 mm diameter

It fits a larger wrist. My wrist measures 7.75 and it fits well, just looks big on a less than 7 inch

I agree, what I said is my opinion. In fact the owner of that watch has a 6.75" wrist and loves it. It's all subjective.

I tracked my SRP777 for a week and it ranged from -1 to +5, I was pretty impressed. I hear mini turtles at 42mm are coming out soon.

Yes there are many versions of the turtle that I didn't mention. Their is also the Blue Lagoon version as well as a new ghost grey that is coming out shortly.

Nice watch but a bit too big for me. Looking forward to seeing the baby turtles.

Nice video... but I was so worried about the Seiko chapter ring being misaligned the first second I saw you were reviewing this watch. It's notorious for having that problem Seiko Quality Control has been pure sh*t the past few years.

Dude the 6309 wasn't used by Martin Sheen, it was the 6105. Get your facts stright. You can clearly see it in your video.

personally I'd prefer the turtle to be a little bit bigger

I don't agree on the cons you mentioned. I like the size. It's a tool watch and a diver so the size is perfect. I have a 8" wrist so I like bigger watches.
@timetell43717 жыл бұрын
I agree that for some the size is in fact perfect. My cons are my opinion and are totally subjective. I think overall it is a wonderful timepiece. Hope you are enjoying it!

I disagree with you. I realize taste is subjective, but the reason why I think you are wrong is that if this was 42 mm then really whats the point? Get an SKX and save money.. The whole point of the turtle is the larger case. I have a 6105.. i think its 44mm, but it wears smaller.. It isn't a huge dial or huge bezel, the size is in the case which doesn't make it look too gaudy.. That being said i prefer the size of the original 6309 better, but the whole point of the turtle is the larger case size started with the 6105... Otherwise no real reason to have a turtle.. SKX would be a better value.. Also another comment you said I don't agree with is the lug size. Yes its subjective,, but in your gripe you're assuming everyone has 20mm straps... A lot of people upgrade from the SKX to a turtle which is also 22mm. There are a lot of watches at 22mm .. So again that is a subjective thing.

Good review but not giving credit to the people who took the photos isn’t cool. Hodinkee for one.

20mm lug is too small. affects stability

Not a plastic bag in sight....side note, if the turtle was smaller no-one would buy the skx
