I 'm the proud owner of a Seiko SRPE 67 ,w/ matte black Dial,.bought it from a guy from Ottawa,in North Glengarry. All i have To say,it's a keeper !! A real tank,a every day watch ! Very accurate watch w/ 21 sec loss/ day. Which is very good ! Changed the original black nato, for a leather strap,and it looks very nice !! Very happy w/ this dress skx!! Lifetime keeper ! Need i say more ? May i go now officer ?!!.

I have the same watch and this one is really strap friendly. I wear it on a black leather vintage racing strap. About the water resistance, I think the rate would be a problem at the SKX but the Dress KX never meant to be a diver at all, so 100m is totally ok. Great review.
@Watchcastage3 жыл бұрын
That's a great point: It's not trying to be a dive watch so why critique it for more than sufficient water resistance for everyday use. I like the way you think! Thanks for checking the video out.
@Bonpu2 жыл бұрын
I don't get peoples' complaints about the push-pull crown. It's a hand-windable watch with 100m WR, a large crown guard, and the crown can only be pulled from the underside of the watch. There is exactly zero reason for a screw-down crown. Like: absolutely none!
@tedtsangg Жыл бұрын
AGREED stupid reason to be frustrated with it. It’s primarily a dress watch and has 100m water resistance better than the usual 50 on everything it competes agains
@catlike13 жыл бұрын
I have the anthracite grey dial version (SRPE61) and it's a great everyday watch. The watch can regularly be found around $220-230 now (15-20% off), and at that price it is a no-brainer. And during the holidays, Macy's had it on sale for $187!
@Watchcastage3 жыл бұрын
Oh man! $187 for this thing is bonkers! What an absolute steal!
@Pentti_Hilkuri3 жыл бұрын
Nice, but one FYI: The screw down crown is not what makes the water resistance. In the skx the sealing o-ring is on the crown stem and the stem is always sealed even when pulled out. The screw down crown is to prevent mechanical damage to the stem and movement in case it gets hit hard.

I have one of these beauties. Swapped nato strap as well. Watch defiantly a strap monster! I'm getting incredible +6secs a day for this Seiko 5. Way more expensive watches can only just achieve this accuracy. For £200/£230 it's probably best value good looking automatic. Sinn 556 beautiful but £1185. Try one of these first 👍
@resjon79812 жыл бұрын
The 4R36 is a very accurate movement due to the lower power reserve, I have found that the Seiko movements with 70hr power reserve are not very accurate.

Nice video and informative. I just purchased my first seiko 5 automatic watch. I normally buy and like the Swiss army watches.

It's always funny to hear something like: just 100m water resistance. You can't dive with it. Bro you know how crazy it is to dive 100m deep? 🤣 You can perfectly dive with it. "Normal" people will not go deeper than 50m. So this is super suitable for diving, too. 🤙

I do think it may be fum to see some of the fine details on a watch such as engravings and things. Man only 100 meters? That may be a deal breaker. Not that I'm a diver mind you. Just gotta to keep my options open right? Thanks for yet another amazing review.
@Watchcastage3 жыл бұрын
Yeah. The thing about watch water resistance is it's not accurate. 100M doesn't mean you can dive 100M. It's really confusing how they do that.
@00solman3 жыл бұрын
@@Watchcastage That would be an interesting lesson. At least for me.

I believe that, as of mid-2021, this model is no longer made in Japan. It is my understanding that it is being assembled in China using Japanese parts.

How do you know if the watch is in am or pm?
@Watchcastage3 жыл бұрын
You don’t unless you’ve set the time and the watch has continued to run. To be safe it’s always a good idea to set the time forward to ensure you’re in the am.

Love my Orient Ray 2 ( black dial) except that fucking polished bezel.. it shines like swarowsky woman watch.. This seiko model is on my bucket list.. Love brushed metal and black dial and love seiko.. and orient.. but they are expencive.. average month salary in my country is 500 dollar.. and used ray and this seiko is around 250 dollars.. If my wife found out that a spend half my month salary on watch, she would kick me out of a house.. A sold my 20 year old renault few months ago for 400 doller.. this says how much I love watches haha..
