There's a story that Ricky Gervais once told, but I can't remember if he was talking about himself, or someone else that he knew this happened to. That the kid beating off was doing it with his door closed (but not locked) and his headphones on, in a chair with its back to the door. After he was finished, he turned around and saw that his mother had come into the room and put down I think a tray of food it was behind him and then left without ever saying anything. So he didn't suffer the horror of seeing her seeing him, but he knew about it definitely happening after the fact, that somehow maybe seems even worse.

I don't think it's possible to name a best episode when it comes to Seinfeld there were so many memorable ones but I think the edgiest one that comes close to this one would be the "Dentist" and the use of the word "anti-dentite". Seinfeld succeeded where so many top comedians couldn't.

What was also genius about this episode was that they left the viewer not knowing who actually won. They saved it to come out in the *hand model* episode of all things -- perfect! But the genius went even further when we found out in the very last episode that George (naturally) had lied in order to win. Jerry had actually won, but we didn't find out until the very end. That's Mozart/Einstein/Newton level comedy writing!

Jason isn't a writer lol. He's also not a very intelligent person. But he is a fantastic actor and Seinfeld wouldn't have worked without him. If you watch all these interviews, a common thread is that Jason's instincts are consistently wrong regarding what kind of episodes work and what kind don't work. He's out of touch with the public because he exists in a different world. He's a classically trained actor.
