Our corrupt medical system at work... it's fucked up that's it's prolly safer to not see the doctor if something is bothering you unless it gets really bad. The thing is you don't know if it's something that will get really bad unless you see the doctor. I went cliff diving a couple years ago and landed on my groin accidentally. Saw some swelling in my testicles and got concerned. Doctor said just rest you'll be fine and I was, but not before the nurses/techs did hundreds of dollars in tests to rule anything else out. Months later along comes a big fat bill.

Not in Australia or any other country with universal health care- it is free to see a Doctor (you pay a tax of $20-$30 a week) and then you can see any doctor as many times as you want- no cash exchanges hands. Same as going to a hospital. If I got run over now, I could be in hospital for any amount of time, and never ever get a bill.
@ChickenPizza3 жыл бұрын
@@fozzybear8878 That's because you're paying for your bill via taxes. You pay either way, either through the government or directly to the medical establishment. There is no such thing as free healthcare.
@100031593 жыл бұрын
@@ChickenPizza you pay significantly more when the healthcare has a profit incentive. Healthcare has inelastic demand and thus demand has almost no sensitivity to price. You'll notice the best healthcare systems on the planet have either full government control or non profit heavily regulated in the private market.

So, a few years ago, I actually put the phone down, left the room, and went to the bathroom without even telling him. I came back several minutes later, picked the phone back up and put it to my ear, and he was still talking. Didn't even noticed I had left and came back.
