@@pilsnerd420 It would not surprise me that was the case at all. A number of martial arts magazines like Black Belt have covered this topic before. In fact, places like this are called "McDojo's" by serious martial arts teachers, for the reasons you mentioned. The character of Master Ken, here on You Tube is a parody of McDojo operators. Matt Page, the actor who plays him said that Master Ken is based off some of his own real-life experiences studying martial arts under some people that really should have not been teaching others.

Kramer is the funniest character in history of television. And when I watched the documentary about Seinfeld I can see why... He put everything he got into the character. It gives impression it all came to him easily yet he said he would prepare and reherse for hours being very critical of himself feelling the pressure to perform non stop. Just the tinnest little bits of mannerism movent seem spontaneous yet it was all carefully choreographed by him to make it seem natural. Just him lying on the floor after being pushed by Elaine he looks around terrified they saw weakness in him yet to sell it even more he makes a little jolt with his body it sold the scene so much more. All his scenes are full of these little details.

Excellent bit of writing. Back in the day, the white belt got darker over time in day to day training. Once the belt became black hopefully you had some idea what you were doing and some element of focus. Then the real training begun. Love Seinfeld.
