Dylan Leff The thing is, his entire play style revolves around his team. The stronger his team (light), the stronger Kuroko gets (dark). That is why he’s the Gatekeeper. Without full trust and support of your teammates, you will never be able to enter the True Zone or whatever the second gate is called.

Kuroko GameStyle was what at the 2nd door. Teamwork to the level of knowing everybody is trusting each other. The Miracles all took individual growth over the Team during middle school;who's to blame them since they were improving their craft. Problem is they all Sacrificed Kuroko in the process and closed the 2nd Gate by rejecting what Kuroko stands for. In the NBA legendary players are individual Great but what makes them better than most is the ability to make their Teammates better in Championship moment or Runs to the Title🙏

KNB really is one of the few animes that portray Trust and friendship well. Even though the plays are unrealistic, the anime does a good job at making these scenes feel realistic and intense, the team’s(Seirin) character development was very well done, loved this anime, guess its time rewatch after a while.

FriaNo SenSei basically he had to do the roundabout. First he played alone and reckless before finding tetsu. When that wasn't not enough to challenge the GOM (barely beating mido and kise and getting crushed by Aomine) he had to go back to square one where he can surpass his own limits and play on the GOM level without completely abandoning tetsu and the team. Essentially he had to be the one that can save the team. Finally. After being able to reach the level of Miracles, the only way to surpass even what seems like their full potential was to be able to drag everyone else through the door to the zone with Taiga using nothing but trust. This was all thanks to the hope that the darkest shadow was able to one to give him. Basically he defied the state of the zone and was able to see his team instead of disregarding them as useless information Aomine and the others believed that they couldn't trust tetsu anymore. And despite the respect they still held, they could never believe he can be used for anything by anyone else. They couldn't believe in anyone, only themselves. They were all tested and each in turn had failed to see past what he truly was. Only Taiga answered the test and the results were Stellar.

Basically to bring the best out of the team you obviously need teamwork, but this was more than just teamwork this was trust and love between the teammates of Seirin. most people don't seem to realize the lightning and fire and stuff is how the player percieve the game. not whats actually happening. the whole "everything goes dark except the court and some lights" effect is just to show their ignoring all unnecessary information. and its not that crazy, if you play basketball for real and a lot of high tense action is going it might just feel like people are surpassing their limits every other second, and that the ball's moving at lightning speed but somehow you can still keep up because the world moves in slow motion. every once in a while when i have a really good game a single attempt at making a basket can feel like it takes a full minute or 2.

I don't really like the 'power of friendship' cliches either, but its a team sport, so its understandable. Have you watched the anime? Or read the manga? Just curious cos it should be obvious... Kuroko is the Gate Keeper because he believes in teamwork more than anyone. All of his plays (except he's shooting technique) all focus around working together with his teammates; so in hindsight, Kuroko is essentially the embodiment of teamwork. So making him the gate keeper of the 2nd level of the zone is a fitting choice since that level represents the pinnacle of teamwork. The zone comes easy to Aomine, he can enter and exit it at will, but he can only use the first level of the zone. He's apparently been trying for a while to break into the second level but can't because of some gate keeper. Now Aomine's the opposite of teamwork, him and kuroko used to be a battery, but when he became too powerful to the point where no one else could fight on his level, he ditched kuroko and abandoned all form of teamwork, essentially becoming a 'one man army'. So when Kuroko is revealed to be the mental gate keeper to the 2nd level of the zone, Aomine realises what a dumbass he's been, and that even though he deviated from his basketball-loving-teamwork beliefs, kuroko has always stayed firm in his beliefs, believing in teamwork even when everyone else on his team did not.

People never talk about how Seirin wasn't an underdog team at any point lmao. 2 GoM (Kagami and Kuroko) 1 Uncrowned King (Kiyoshi) Clutch 3pt shooter (Hyuga) Game reader (Izuku eagle eye) Let's say a GoM is worth 5 points, An Uncrowned King is 3 points. Normal players 1-2 points (2 for players like mayuzumi, takao, hyuga and weaker teams' aces.) Kagami and Kuroko is 10 points. Kiyoshi 3, Izuku 1, Hyuga 2 (You could even give Izuku 2 but let's take the worst possible scenario) total = 16 points. Akashi 5. Three uncrowned kings 9. Mayuzumi 2. Total = 16. So these two teams were the favorites to win lol.
