This feels like traditional Japanese ju jutsu! Thanks for the trip down memory lane

What do you think of sode guruma jime from inside the guard?

Generally your opponent can push you away with his legs, and unless you have a phenomenal weight and strength advantage, you won't be able to keep the position to finish. If you can successfully control the back of your opponent's head and bend him forwards, you might be able to pull it off, but he will probably flip you into a mount before you can finish the choke. So it's a very low percentage move. If you ARE able to get your arm around the back of his head, then you're better off going for a pressure pass. Once you've passed the guard, then sode guruma jime is a natural finish.
