I saw them in the fall of '82 in Tempe, Arizona at a little club off campus... I was steps away from them. None of my girlfriends would go with me (too dumb) so I went all by myself. They blew everyone away and I'll never forget it until my dying day. Still so grateful to have had the opportunity.

Honestly this is probably one of the greatest bands that came out of the post punk "movement". Not that others wheren't great either (I mean, stuff like Joy Division is pretty timeless), but Gang of Four really had a great lyrical talent and subtle politics.
@Elias-no9fy4 жыл бұрын
Wouldn’t call it ”subtle” politics, they were quite straight forward with their Marxist leanings, moreso in the lyrics of their songs.

Best live band ever - saw them twice with this lineup - simply unbelievable.

I blame Gang of Four, and specifically Andy Gill, for much of my hearing loss. I saw them in Detroit, Ann Arbor and Windsor the late 70s, early 80s. They are right of there with the DKs as live performers. PTxS

Saw them fairly recently in the last two or so years. I knew what I was getting into despite the un-wiseness of standing directly in front of Andy Gill's part of the stage. My ears rang loudly the next TWO days. The ringing subsided, but that's still hearing loss...

Hey Tex - my band was on that tour with them, they had regular screaming, bottle throwing fights in the dressing room about how loud Andy was!

I loved this band and it's not often I give a thumbs down...but this sounds shit. The edge on the guitar has gone compared with how they were when I saw them live a couple of times before this in London.

I saw them too but I found this to be awesome. Brought back memories. Andy was awesome and so cool
