Seized Bicycle Seat Post, Seat Post Stuck In Frame, PART 2

This is part 2 of seat post removal, stuck bicycle seat post. No luck banging back-and-forth on the seat so I had to dismantle the frame. I have it upside down with the top of the seat post clamped in a bench top vice. I’m had to wrestle the seat post out of the frame.

Great job! Everybody that has done this, knows how hard it is. This should be part of The Strongest Man in the World Contest.:-) Some anti-seize/grease (depending on material) helps a lot when mounting bicycle. Even Vaseline is better in many cases than just nothing. A lot of bicycle manufacturers and dealers unfortunately do not care about anti-seize/grease, which is no good. Similar stucking can happen to bottom brackets, pedals, stems and in rare cases also to head sets. It destroys material that is actually good. Greasing is a matter of seconds, maybe a minute when assembling a bicycles. So nothing compared to hard loosing.

You got there in the end which is refreshing to see. I would however always recommend that work benches or tables are bolted either to the wall or the floor, or both, to prevent them moving. Thank you for your efforts and the resulting video.

did you try to heat up the frame? aluminum has a much higher heat expansion coefficient than carbon fiber.
