Basically, it's the set of all complex numbers c of which, when put into the equation z(n+1)=z(n)^2+c won't approach infinity. z(0) = 0 To make my ideas more clear, let's set c equal to 1. The check goes as follows: z(1)=0^2+1=1 z(2)=1^2+1=2 because it's distance 2 away from the origin, we can safely say the number 1 does not belong in the mandelbrot set, but let's continue... z(3)=2^2+1=5 z(4)=5^2+1=26 z(5)=26^2+1=677 (I could be wrong here) Now there are no doubts on if this series will diverge into infinity XD.
