They know an accusation won't hold up without proof. Fortunately it's a lot easier to get proof nowadays with security cameras and such. But back before then, it was their word against yours. And somehow the people who do this type of thing always seem to be the type who are good at sucking up to other people and getting them to believe their side of the story.

I hear that. One day some distant relatives I don’t know about came to visit and my brother was showing off my stuff to a little boy and he tried to give away my Xbox one. I said no and he tried to guilt trip me saying the kid was poor. Funny coming from a guy who has a job and could afford to buy him things. And since Yasuo was a blatant liar, hypocrite, greedy, arrogant, narcissistic, manipulative with his girlfriend, conceited, hungry for fame and luxury, cheater and thief, who doesn't take no for an answer and has neither the talent nor the the aptitude and attitude to work honestly and neither the patience to earn money, especially the easy money that he pursues so much, he dedicated himself to stealing without scruples, each time with more valuable and expensive things. And don't forget that he was flirting, pestering and trying to attract other beautiful women, knowing full well (and us and the important characters in the story) that he is married. To make matters worse, it wasn't until the moment he was caught, THAT HE DID NOT FEEL ANY SHAME, GUILT OR REGRET FOR WHAT HE DID, NOT AN INCREMENT. He was just an evil parasite, but a coward, because after it all came out, he was totally devastated and "scared" that he couldn't get away with it and now he knows full well that his acts had serious consequences this time.

Fate of Yasuo: He ended up being in debt to his parents and was forced to work in order to pay them back and after the debt is paid off, he is kicked out. He started working at a convenience store to make ends meet and to pay off debt but bulk of his pay goes to the debt so he does not have any money to have his fun. He decided to pawn of his parents items this time to fund his lifestyle but his parents took him to court and this put him into even more debt and they kicked him out and he had to live in a crappy apartment and work to pay off his debt. He decided to loan money from the loan sharks to pay off his debt but instead of doing that he used that loan to fund his lifestyle and put him into even more debt and because of that he was being chased down often and had to go into hiding but that did not last long as the mobs beat the crap out of him and took him away where he would work for the rest of his life to pay his debt.

In an alternate universe... After Koki's father's accident, the family decided to open up a new business since the father is no longer able to work his original job properly. Later on, demons started attacking their city, which prompted the government to create a task force to fight them. Among those chosen for said task force were the Igarashi siblings, who managed to form contracts with demons with the help of a device created by a genius yet eccentric scientist. Together, the siblings fought crime and resolved incidents related to demon attacks and eventually even defeated the demon king himself.
