4 years later and you're still saving lives! your tip of hitting her back is literally the key for me to beat this boss. I struggled with her so bad and had tried every guide but none of those worked for me. For anyone struggling this boss, I have some tips that helped me beat her: 1) always maintain a medium distance. Never get close outside of below mentioned windows, avoid parrying whenever possible. 2) window 1: bait out the jump attack. As soon as you see her do it, run under her to get to her backside. If you do, she can't hit you, and you can do 2 attacks + firecracker + 2 attacks then run away (i think they patched out back to back firecracker cheese so only do it once per opening). 3) if she does the 5 swing attack: stay out of range, run in at the end of the 5th swing, attack twice, then run away. Rinse and repeat until she's dead! GL

For those who may be working with a low amount of snap peas and don't want to waste them: I did the majority of the fight with either the lilac umbrella (followed up by counter attack projected force) or firecrackers, then when she had only a third of her health left I popped all three snap peas in succession to bring her right to death blow status. This way allowed me to have bad runs and not worry about wasting my peas early on.

Your tips are fantastic. My life has been so busy that I only reliably get about two to three hours of playtime a week, so when I hit a boss, I look at your tips to maximize my time efficiency. Using your guides, I've downed this boss, and at least 7 others so far, on my first try, realizing after this one that I'd even forgotten about the snap seeds! Anyways, thanks again for your efforts. same, I can maybe take out 1/8th of her health and then die. Her posture meter, doesn't fill up very fast. And for me often, doesn't even show up when I am blocking, only briefly when I am attacking. But then that doesn't work for me either haha. Sometimes wonder why I torture myself with this game.

Sad to say, I got to Owl and gave up on Sekiro. I had a lot of fun with it, but by the time I got to Owl, I had just grown bored of grinding through bosses. Most games, you eventually become powerful enough where you don’t have to die fifty times to each boss before you can beat them. However, Sekiro always felt like I was starting over after every boss fight. I recognize that this is probably what attracts a lot of people to the game, so it’s my problem not the game’s problem. That being said, it would have been cool if there was a story mode to make getting through the game a bit easier. Thankfully, I was able to see the rest of the story via KZbin. It really was an awesome game. I just grew bored with the same formula of having to die a bunch of times to each boss before finally beating them.

you're videos have helped me tremdously. if for nothing else, helping get the mechanics of the combat systems used in this game A LOT. I am still having trouble with Seven spears (first time) and genichiro (I think) the boss after the dojo on the roof area. But I have been doing sooo much better and getting close with your help. THANK YOU!!!!! Edit: watched the video before my fight, helped a little, but have to day, firecrackers did not work at all on her. Did not stun her 1 bit, it was like I did nothing and just stood there.

Great tips. I found that snap seeds weren't needed for me. I used the Ash first and got him down about half and used the firecrackers in the second half of the fight and popped a Goku Sugar as well. The key like you said was to hit in the back after the stun and and get away, let him finish sweeping moves and get in on him with the ash or firecrackers.

Quick tip for everybody: You don’t have to have snap seeds to kill the monk. You can use the ash and firecracker hit combo to get her vitality low enough to bring her posture to a red background bar. From there just work on her posture and dodge/mirikiri any unblockable attacks

Hey bud thank u for ur effort making this! I swear u have been unknowingly holding my hand thru the past 3 or 4 bosses. I don't like to use guides with from software games because I feel the experimentation and exploration is half the experience! But ur guides manage to be helpful without being too META and relying on exploiting broken mechanics. Hey one thing tho I discovered for O'rin (the psycho gf before the monk) is that if u use floating passage and just continuously non stop hit her with it over n over u get a stun lock and u can own her without her even getting a hit in. I discovered this all on my own. It made for a great gaming experience my good man!

Honestly that chick helped me learn the fighting system more than any other enemy, she was frustrating. At least the butterfly lady you can chase and hit her, that chick just runs and disappears and can't get a hit until you counter

Glad you didn’t use confetti because someone mentioned that Monk is not actually a apparition, but an illusion. Edit: Just destroyed her using 3 snap seeds, 6 firecrackers and a fist full of ash. What was a hard fight the first few times turned into a joke... sad really. Thanks for the tips!

Ahahahhahaahhh I was waiting for this video but I ended up beating her last night... great. I only used mortal blade. The best pointer is learning the fight, but you really only need mortal blade. You can keep using it when you’re out of spirit emblems and the village is great for farming emblems, kind of a waste to use things like snap seeds or confetti that are hard to come by

This freaking guy was kicking my ass into I started using the thrusting spear on him, it absolutely shreds through him, I haven't seen anyone else say anything about using the spear yet, so y'all reading this try it, and best of all it only uses 1 spirit emblem per use. Just as soon as you walk in the door run at him and start your thrust once about halfway to him, hell block a couple of them but not fully, it still damages him. Made him possibly the easiest boss for me so far

Great vid man.. another way to do this is a combo using the ash and firecrackers. First, you might want to stop at the near steps towards the boss and buff first.. use the sugar (the one that boost ur attack and cut your hp to half), confetti After that, just go at him hit twice and use ash repeat and rinse until ur ash is out then use the firecrackers repeat rinse.. the monk even didn’t have a chance with this strat Hope it helps

Great video. (BIG TIP AT END OF THIS COMMENT) Using a slight variation on the technique in the video of 1. Firecracker 3 attacks (in back) Firecracker 3 attacks until used up, then 2. Fistful of ash 2 attacks Fistful of ash 2 attacks until used up. If you do that well, hitting her in the back as often as possible, the fight becomes very easy because her health is quite low. Avoid her attacks as best as possible, wait for your openings (especially after jump attack), and hit until the deathblow comes up. BIG TIP: If you crouch upon entering the area, and move along the very outside edge on the left side, you can come in BEHIND her at the start of every attempt. This means you can instantly start the fight with the Firecracker/Fistful of Ash technique with zero risk. Guaranteed victory.

For reference, you can in fact kill her start to finish by using the firecracker & ash method. Truly trivializes this fight. Thanks for the tip! I didnt even use any seeds or confetti, but I don't think the confetti helps anyways. *spoilers for slightly further in the game* . . . . . . Also worked on the True Corrupted monk, but i only used it on her last phase. I beat it first try using this cheese method. Thanks again!

For anyone struggling with this fight, I suggest the following: 1. Use a combo of ako sugar + divine confetti helps a great ton. 2. Use firecrackers but only when there’s an opening. If you use it wrongly monk will still do her spinning move and attack you. 3. When you hear a loud deflect from the monk, it’s a sign that you should stop attacking and start deflecting. 4. You can choose to parry the boss but if you fail to do so, the boss’s last hit will definitely break your posture and kill you. 5. Save the snap seeds for the last bit to avoid resource wastage as opposed to using it at the beginning. 6. Watch out for your posture bar all the time!

It's cool how many different ways and approaches there are to defeat the bosses in this game. For me this boss only took me about 5 tries without a guide but O'rin of the Water just before had stumped me for at least an hr or two.

A few tips that helped me out: 1. The 2 shot mortal blade move that you acquire will wreck this boss if you hit her square with it (jump her unblockable sweeping attack and then attack), nice health and posture damage. 2. Parry everything and only hit her 2, 3 times max. 3. When you heal there's a VERY good chance she's gonna attack you with a flying over head attack, anticipate and parry. 4. Save your snap seeds until she's down to 1/3rd health. This increases your chances of finishing her off and greatly reduces the chances of using them early and dying thus wasting them.

Hey guys this video is excellent but if you're still struggling and are just ready to be done you can be. Use contact medicine and keep to the left of the arena. Slowly walk up behind her and use the MIST RAVEN to teleport yourself directly up and perform a stealth deathblow.

Keep in mind that snap seeds and fire crackers no longer affect her once she’s half health, that’s when you want to use Mortal Draw.

This is how I killed it. 1) Before fight I used Aku sugar and confeti. Then I ran to him and hit 4 time. After that I went back to wait for his moves. Then one snapseed, two hits and run. I did this like 3 times. He was half health and I used the second part. 2) After hiting ones I throw fireworks and hit twice. Then repeat until he is dead. I did him in 1 or 2 minutes.

I just oneshotted corrupted monk with zero guides! Phantom Kunai (17 emblems) helped a lot, then I just sprinted around waiting for a gap to shadowrush until he was dead! Going to upload my footage because people probably wouldn't believe it XD took 8 minutes but I'm satisfied

I managed it with mortal draw because I knew id run out of snap seeds. hit her twice at first then block (you don't need to run behind her). wait for next opening (like jump attack post block) then do it again. only use the mortal blade until her posture starts to be able to be built (i.e. the damage that three snap seeds do- about 1/4 health down , 3/4 health left). Then switch to double ichimonji. parry everything then double ichimoji to get your posture back and get hers down. remember to jump her sweeps and mikiri counter thrusts.

I watched this vid; but ended up beating the boss on the first try. All you have to do is constantly run large circles, baiting attacks and simply running out of it; then come in and hit her and run back out. You could do it the entire fight without any items; I only got hit once. Used snap seeds near the end because I was tired of fighting her lol. BUT Watching this video, your health is way higher than mine and I don't have the mortal blade xD I think I need to backtrack.

Hi, Shinobi Gamer Here. They kinda patched the damage you can do, BUT I HAVE GOOD NEWS. You can beat her after the patch here’s how I did it if you bare with me. My Shinobi: -4th Prayer Necklace (Vitality 14) -6 Gourds - Attack Power 3 - Spirit Emblems 18 Equipment - 5 Divine Confetti - 10 Fistful of Ash -10 Snap Seeds - 6 Gourds - 3 Pellets -2 Ako sugar -Firecracker Strategy What you want you to do is before you go to the steps like in the video Activate the “Ako sugar” and “Divine confetti”. Repeat the strategy in the video. Now once you run out of spirit emblems don’t freak out. (Here’s where the strategy comes in) pop a “Divine confetti” and a “snap seed” (the snap seed will temporarily stun her) use this moment to attack. Now while you can’t stun lock her. You can run around the map clockways and wait for her to do her continuous slash, then chip her off by either dash slice or jump slice twice. Or you can wait for her to jump and slam, and then chip her off either by dash slice or jump slice twice. Also (a good strategy) wait for her to slam or do a slash and have a “fistful of ash” ready to throw at it. (Keep in mind you have to be close to do it and do it at the right time since the the “fistful of ashs” is tossed slow). Now you rinse and repeat and that’s how you beat her. Now to find Divine Confetti you can farm it by killing the blue guys at ASHINA CASTLE - Upper Tower- Antechamber and then resting at an idol (if you can’t find the upperchamber) it’s on the roof in one of the windows of the Ashina castle guarded by the Nightjar.

@@R3DSH1FT196 you can though. Even if your meter is full, you won't ever be posture broken as long as you're deflecting properly.

@Mr.Nice Guy You can't stagger off deflections. The meter still adds up on deflects but won't ever break unless you block/get hit. What happened was your bar filled up and then you mistimed your deflect. So no, the game doesn't screw you over if you do it perfectly.

@@t.h8919 Even if you deflect perfectly a 5 hit combo you get knocked away doing the sliding animations so there's no chance to counter attack. Instead best is to dodge side ways and keep attacking.

@@mr.niceguy1095 dude, it's like one move that comes up like every 30 seconds, and at 1:47 you'll see you can easily land a couple of hits after the move. So the posture system 'screws you up' because some bosses have like 1 move out of 10 that blows you back? Literally unplayable.

For the corrupted monk and o’rin of water boss fights use divine confetti! I don’t see a lot of people use it cuz they only use them on the headless bud guess what the monk and o’rin of water count as ghosts sooooo you actually do ALOT more damage and makes the fights easier using divine confetti and you can also use the malcontent whistle to stun them as well (really useful for o’rin of water)
