First of all, thank you so much for playing! :) I knew Isshin would end up having a lot of hyper armor especially in the spear phases, so I wanted him to have a lot of opportunities for the player to fit attacks in during Isshin's combos, but you've really impressed me with all the opportunities you've taken advantage of (some I didn't even know about!) and the usage of jumping to the side and shadowfall is very fun to see! Also, I love the edited in voice line at 2:15 I'll figure out how to trigger them in game one day, hopefully! P.S the attack at 3:18 and the fire ichimonji that he can do in phase 1 or Isshin at the shura ending, only deal burn buildup and normal damage so they can be deflected with the sword

I'm still amazed by how intense Sekiro's gameply is. It calls for constant concentration and it's so responsive/reactive. One mistake and you're done, it's honestly one of the best, if not, the best combat system I've got to play. And this man makes it look easy lol.

Well if you really think about it, you as the player and as Sekiro become the most powerful swordsman in the Sekiroverse by dethroning the old master. And he's proud of you for it. Unlike other From games where we fight the weakened husks of old powerful beings, Isshin is primed and ready. He lives up to the hype from seeing him flawlessing groups of purple ninjas off screen like its a hobby. Isshin was the only one left who could stand a chance against Sekiro and the Ministry. Once Isshin accepts defeat, there really is no one left to challenge you.

I so wanted him to block the final deathblow and go into a 4th phase. Or have it be in Sekiro 2. That would be a "oh fuck" moment to surpass even Guardian Ape surviving for a second phase. Image you are fighting a guy and you do the final animation deathblow where time slows and EVERY other time in both games where you have done it, the enemy has died, only for them to parry it, push you away and start another phase!

I feel like this is how the final battle between Sekiro and Isshin would have been really like... the intensity, the almost dancelike flurry of attacks... The unmodded duel in the game is a withered down version so that mere mortals would be able to finish it. Great job Ongbal and of course, to the modder as well. I think I've already watched this like 10 times now. I'm still impressed every single time.

Now THIS is Isshin, a killing machine pulling combo after combo with zero to little exertion. That intro ashina cross and the added downward slam already gave me chills. He literally uses EVERYTHING, lightning, black mortal blade slashes, fire attacks, one mind, wind shockwaves, hell I think I even saw him try to do the judo flip move on Ongbal. What’s more, Isshin’s doing these moves one after another without any delay like flowing combos and at ridiculous speeds Like 2:34 onwards is straight up peak anime with both Isshin and Sekiro are going at it with 0 hesitation and at extreme speeds and adrenaline

Something I love about this particular variation of Isshin is that he's insanely aggressive, but there's no bullshit multi-hits to worry about. His One Mind attack is now 3 strings of two back-to-back slashes instead of an unreadable flurry you need to umbrella for. His gun only fires two shots instead of 6 when he charges you. His big explosion attack has a very clear telegraph, and you can parry the second hit without needing to dodge or go into the recovery animation. I think the mod author did a very good job at making Isshin feel like a true God of War, where "hesitation is defeat" is reflected in his own combat style and hyper-aggressiveness compared to the original, while also not making him bullshit like some of the other mods.

@@zacmcculloch721 there's plenty of ways to deal with Isshin Ashina's One Mind (in base game), but in order to actually deflect it, you need the umbrella, because you get one forced block.

I beat og ishin a lot, what I remember was that every one of his moves had at least one direct counter, not always parrying. For instance his big overhead swing could be countered by walking to the side. He would only ever use stuff like the pistol when the player tried to disengage. I think this is what made him my favorite boss, you couldn't do the same thing over and over, but he would punish you for hesitating in you abilities and trying to back off. Once you learned him it was an amazing dance of staying close and knowing exactly which moves and counters could be used against what he was about to do.
