0:36 honestly its a mix if you want to get specific, the closest literal game like this is Ghost of Tsushima, but ofc this one is far more difficult because its ALSO a Rythm game once you get to the main Sword wielding bosses youve gotta learn to get in the rythm of the boss

Theres a checkpoint system in the game, the idols with the blue light around them. There's one right before the ogre (after the cannon guy)

For the chained ogre or really any enemy and boss any move that has a red symbol appear means you cannot block or parry it

Forgot to mention if you have the combat art mikiri counter you can counter any thrust attack that has the red symbol by going towards the attack and your character will stomp on the weapon.again only with thrust attacks it works.grabs also don't count.also you can just jump over sweep attacks that have the red symbol by either just jumping and attacking or pressing the jump button 2 times for a mid air kick that does alot of posture damage

I won’t lie and say it gets easier cuz it doesn’t, but you are definitely get better. You’re doing some solid techs on instinct that’ll help with later bosses. Biggest tip I have it to sway between offense and defense like you did with the giant until you get a good foundation with parrying, then be as aggressive as possible as often as you can

Don't worry man, you're going through what almost everyone went through. Just remember this is not an RPG it's a rythm game. Read the moves and try diferent things. This game is about muscle memory, you can't achieve that in 2 hours. Take breaks, take your time, come back and try again. There is no shame in practice, once you "feel" the flow of combat it will start to click and feel so nice. For me to fully have the combat system click was around 40 hours in, and after that the game was awesome, just getting to that point takes some time. (I took my time, for most people it's quicker) Keep at it, we all believe in you.

You would've beat the general if you did a stealth death blow first. Most Minibosses are much easier if you use stealth first.

Question did you find the merchant who sells you stuff? There’s an item you can buy from him that can help a lot and it’s for the prosthetic arm. Once’s you get the upgrade item go back to the old man carving Buddha statues and he can put it on your arm. Also there an old woman you passed by you should totally talk to her she gives you something special.

pretty much everything in this game can be parried except stuff with the red mark, even bullets. if u get it down the game is wayyyy easier

@@KyQew It's like a rhythm game. Attack 2 or 3 times, then be ready to deflect or deal with what the enemy is doing. In the area before the Ogre, there's a building with an old lady in it. She'll give you a bell you can take to the Dilapidated Temple to access a new area.
