This is the only video and method that helped me beat him. I couldn't get through phase 1 at all. My friend sent me this video trying to help me. Sure enough, first try. I got to 2nd phase with this method. Took a couple more tries, and then I finally got him. I'm so happy bc I thought I was gonna be stuck on him. Now I was able to continue the game "doing a platinum run". I'm currently back at ashina while it's on fire and under attack by the isshin clan. Thanks again for this method!

This also was the vid that did the trick for me. Sekiro guru's one is patched so that he does 2 diferrent beginning strikes and if you dodge into it, one of them is continuous and you just get beat tf up. Thank you!

I don't know how he managed to dodge forward to the left (sekiro's left) but one mistiming and you're done with 2/3rd of the life bar since Owl is holding the sword on his right hand and slash from his left to right. Plus, dodging on that side rotates the camera too fast to keep track of hit back. Also found side stepping his shuriken attack is not always a good idea as one mistiming and Sekiro gets hit and Owl does a massive hit after that. Some of his videos helped me greatly back in the days but most I found are patched by now. I am not a very keen observer like him, I was just sitting lazy losing every resource at him killing some time and within 10-15 minutes , this mofo was dead lol.

This video helped me immensely to just... caaaaaalm down. I watched a number of other people's guides and a number of them were all, like, "Be VERY aggressive!" which I really can't deal with due to how fast it all gets! I focused on letting him come to me like you do in this video, swiping him with the mortal blade when I could, and it only took me a handful of tries. And yes, that’s the trick I realized after long time trying, buffing and aggression makes him (if not all the bosses) very aggressive and the biggest challenge in this case is such small arena and those block of pillars barring the free movements and his sword being too long with heavy damage. The more sekiro attacks, more the daddy owl gets hyper. I noticed if sekiro stops being so aggressive, the owl calms down too to match up the speed.

I can't imagine dealing with that on top of super speedy, non-stop attacks. I'm so happy this game generally allows for you to take things at your own speed; I don't think I'd make it otherwise. this video is GOATED like i cant believe it bro like even if u take out the mortal blade part the tips the elbow firecraker tips all were goated bruh saving this one so ill never forget it Tip: if u pop a ako red sugar and run as fast as possible u can get 2 hits on him while he is drawing his sword in start and possibly do nearly half damage and if u have more balls hold block in case he tries to sweep and if u mortal blade him there he will get interuppted and suffer heavy dmg due to ungaurded mortal hit and ako's buff

@@timjennison5135 This video is without the demon bell active, but when I tried with the bell active, found no move difference other than the higher damage on both vitality and resistance thus I used the bell most if I needed more resources since it increases the drop rate too. Demon bell made no difference in any of the boss moves and speed (in my case at least) but deflecting their attacks may increase the yellow bar bit more than usual.

I just beat him an hour ago! I also chose the mortal blade because I didn’t have any emblems left and I didn’t want to farm! It was one of the hardest bosses to me at the moment I know I have a couple more to kill but I hope they are a little less punishing! I was with 18 vitality and 10 attack power points and was so hard!! I wanted to watch how other people did it and yours was the closest to mine but you have many many cues! You're welcome! I think the only 2 practices anyone might need are the *mikiri counter* for his sword run and the *step dodge* ! For other stuffs like mortal blade is quite secondary, if you miss then you just keep on deflecting!

I figured out the 90% of this already, but couldnt quite figure out how to deal with the owl's fire attack in 2nd phase. Thanks a lot. Also, you can cancel every perilous attack if you hit him first. If you see any Kanji, then smack him in the face, or jump and then smack him in the face. The charged Ichimonji like attack need not be dodged, it cancels with Mortal Draw

Great guide. I came here from Tyrannicon’s video (“How to easily kill Owl Father”) which is outdated since that is from 2019 and Owl now has at least 2 additional attacks that aren’t shown in his video, and you can’t simply dodge through as his video suggests. This video shows how to deal with all of his attacks. A couple other thoughts for your next video: *Some of the text blocks are too small to read (2:51) *Some of the text doesn’t stay on the screen long enough to read (had to go back a few times to re-read) *Slo-motion replays of some of the dodges/jumps might help Thanks!

Yeah I don’t really care about those mistakes to be honest, I’m not a KZbinr, i don’t even have any proper editing software and/or experience/patience/knowledge about editing, I used a free tool I got with the purchase of acdsee lol. I’ve seen ppl struggle with it along with me so thought of uploading something that might help the strugglers. As long as ppl are getting it, I think all good. *FOR ALL WHO ARE CONFUSED WITH THE EMBLEM COUNT:* It takes 3 emblems for that slash, and he can hold only 20! After 6 slashes (3x6=18) 2 remain but the blade still works, only range gets shorter to half, you need to get closer to hit him with that at that moment, but the damage remains same, so don’t worry about the emblems!

I beat him using this strat but a little differently at 0:45 as soon as the mikiri symbol appears jump over his attack and do the mortal blade in mid air as soon as you land he’ll rush over to you to do that over head slam and you’ll get a perfect hit every time it basically cancels it before he has a chance to initiate it.

Emblems are not infinite, the mortal blade is lol. Emblems just increase it's range, nothing else, the hit remains the same.

Haha I'm not that pro, in fact the opposite, I just found what I really needed! I lost (almost) ALL my resources at this boss. He's old, so his moves are lazy (unlike young owl father) but the attacks are heavy, takes ⅔ of the health in one blow! Deflect, dodge, hit that's the formula. Rest of the time, just relax and move around! 🙂

Yes, good.. But im in New game +, and He Deals soooo much more dmg and on the deflection also, and attacks WAY more aggresive as in your fight... After breaking it down i can make simply no fault because if He Hits me its 90% combo Attack, and thats instant Backup for heal what He doesnt let Happen, once im in backward movement i can quit the fight, but im confident ill lay him tomorrow

I think what I understood from your comment is he deals more damage & probably have more/different moves in NG+ which I’m unheard of and no intention to try that anytime soon due to being busy with work/family life lol. But I’d like to see that on some videos someday! The key thing I realized is keeping the cool and hold the controller relaxed, then learn their moves and react based on that! I mean ppl should have more attack power in NG+ so shouldn’t be any problem!

@@HolyKiller43 I personally don’t even use mortal blade on him if I play (I finished the game several times and not playing it atm), I find mortal blade quite slow. I don’t mind deflecting him for 15 minutes and tire him out then kill. This is to show if someone struggling.

I did the same as you but I was a little more agressive so I didnt jump back from firework but instead over it and smashed him in the back for example. Difference, I had only 17 vitality and 11 attack Power without grinding for more. 26 tries made it
