When you attack enemy sound goes like *Clink clink clink Thunk* Once you hear that Thunk noise, it's time to stop attacking because enemy's about to attack you, that's when you start deflecting. @@JoeWillz82 actually, deflecting is always key. if you have trouble dealing with grabs, sweeps or thrusts since it takes practice to learn the animations, it's a good idea to parry the normal attacks to break enemy posture until you feel confident enough to counter thrust with mikiri , sweeps by jumping etc. if you just press circle to dodge everything you will not affect enemy posture, which is key, since most enemies have tons of health.

I like it so far, but the fact that the bosses have 3 lives and 5 times as much health as you is too much
@swaahealey5 жыл бұрын
You only need to remove half their health bar to make their posture stop regenerating as quick, so after 50% or so focus on posture damage moves. Also some bosses can be snuck up on or jumped down on.

I didn't realise that the makiri counter had a different use button than the parry, so I went the entire game just parrying these moves. That is one move I truly wish I knew about

SPOILER TIP MINIBOSS ENCOUNTER. ont he hole on the ground where you start the game when you comback there's a ninja there. one way to get the upper hand is to trigger the encounter then back off the hole and wait for him to walk back to his default position. while he is walking back get in the hole again and approach him crouched and then do a stealth attack. the reason you want to do this is because normally i encountered that if you try to stealth attack him before triggering him he will turn around before you can get him first. ( you will know when to come back into the hole when the battle music stops.)
@661mxm5 жыл бұрын
You can also keep drop down onto him, that's how I did it, stealth kill from above, instead of going in the hole just keep walking past and you'll see another hole and he's down there and you can lock on.

"the game doesn't tell you where to get the beads" i mean if your attentive you'll learn like quick
@nicholasruble32625 жыл бұрын
There is at least one prayer bead (I’m guessing more) hidden in chests you need to explore for. [spoiler warning] - the one I found was way up the broken rafters and into the attic in the side room with the sword master and the old woman that you can access after beating the horseman boss

@nicholasruble32625 жыл бұрын
@@darrennoronha3288 Oh yeah, I had the exact same reaction. If you're still struggling, what helped me was (1) taking a round or two just to experiment with when fireworks did/didn't stun, not caring about if I'd actually win; (2) Not focusing TOO much on deflecting, since, unlike other enemies, this guy takes MASSIVE posture damage from being hit and having his horse startled; (3) being very conservative with my openings: Grapple into 3 hits, then block or dodge; scare his horse, 3 hits, block or dodge. You can win a battle of attrition with this guy if you just focus on defense and dodging over parrying. Almost treat this one like a Bloodborne/Souls boss instead of a Sekiro one. p.s. I'm positive people who are actually GOOD at Sekiro will tell me I'm way wrong, but this is what helped me cheese out a W.
@nicholasruble32625 жыл бұрын
@@Justalilcyn I can't recall the exact layout of the room, but this is vaguely how I remember doing it. First, find the staircase in the BIG portion of the building (if you're coming in from the boss arena side, that's it). Then, you need to get onto the regular looking rafters, either by wall-jumping, hitting the grab-button, or a combo of the two. Once you're up there, carefully walk around until you find a beam above you that's been broken and is slightly slanted downward. It takes a bit of tricky platforming, but if you can climb onto it, you can walk straight up it to get to an attic with a treasure chest storing a prayer bead. Hope that helps!

Another easy way to beat the spear guy in the beginning is to just sprint constantly, he occassionally does a wide sweep attack but as long as your paying attention he'll easily miss all of his thrust moves leaving him open to a counter hit

Here is a tip on how to kill shielded enemies without the axe: Get close to them and double jump on them and hold back to create some distance. This will cause them to lunge at you 100% of the time. When they lunge, dodge to the LEFT as dodging to the right fails sometimes. After you dodged them you can hit them twice before they put up their shield again.

I didn’t get the axe til later so I was getting past the shield guys by jump kicking them to bait their charge, dodge to the side, and then attacking them from behind. Not as satisfying as death blows but effective.

Clearly, the chickens have flown here from Hyrule. Beware. Also, two things were missed here. 1. Using items. It was said that gathering Prayer Beads is the only way to improve one's durability, but there is another. The consumable candies can also make Sekiro tougher for a short time and should not be ignored. 2. Parry mash. While this doesn't work as well for named or boss enemies, I've found that it's possible to parry many of the low level mobs by simply mashing the parry button. It looks odd but the attack will be batted away and with a small chance of getting a riposte opening. Still doesn't work for grabs or unblockables, though.

#11 is much more useful when you also have the grapple attack skill. Allows you to take the grapple animation in the Gyoubu fight and immediately attack him, and you can still land another combo when you land.

Technically the game says the special moves are "unguardable", not "unblockable". The trainer at the temple says you can deflect them, you just can't guard against them.
@kmfbster5 жыл бұрын
So #1 says: "Either way grabs are the only thing you have to stay away from as everything else can be met steel for steel providing that your timing is perfect". Internet says sweeps cannot be deflected and I found only examples of thrust perilous attacks being blocked/deflected with perfect timing. So... which one is it?
