Its not every day you get to select and view Koi at Dainichi Koi Farm. Its amazing when we do get a chance to do this and its never disappointing, today was no exception.
The Gin Gin Kohaku was really special. Probably the best Gin Rin Kohaku I have ever seen, especially the actual Gin Gin scales. As a fine example, they do not get any better than this Gin Run Kohaku.
The bigger Showa I really believe we will see on calendars for many years to come, I think she will become a very famous Koi. We can re-visit this video in a few years!!
Anyway, please enjoy this video, its very rare to see Koi of this quality. Only in Japan guys.

As far as I know they are using a kind of mat filter combined with some drainage mats to realise different flow speeds and to prevent clogging. The tickle filter is filled with a ceramic material. If you are interested in details I higly recommend watching some of Harald Bachmanns videos about the Dainichi Koifarm.

Love Dainichi bloodlines but for some reason on most of my high end showa and kohaku I get a lot of beni disappear or weaken. And can't for the life of me work out why.

How often after you purchase the Koi do you find the beni disappear? Do you find it happens more with your showas?

@@BridleBashFoundation all different lengths of times. Some never lose it and look great. Mainly showas. The beni stretches first then weakens then starts disappearing. I've had no end of people come over to try figure it out.

It can be many factors Bobby. Sometimes hardiness and softness etc. Sometimes it can be shipping them and sometimes it can just be the quality of the Koi.
