Love this. I recently converted a '98 Kona Kilauea to a drop bar adventure bike. Actually, did a '99 Hahanna at the same time for my son. I did use v brakes with road shifters with the clever Problem Solver Travel Agent adapter, addresses the different cable pull ratios. Found some disc mount Project 2 forks and run Avid BB7 Road discs on the front. Oh, and resprayed the bikes myself using the wonderful spraybike powder coat product Very pleased with builds.

@@matthewlewis2072 Really? I'm relatively sure that Shadow tech requires a differently shaped (direct mount) hanger. Like this: forums.mtbr.com/attachments/canyon/1161455d1507496837-four-broken-derailleur-hangers-my-spectral-year-wtf-img_20171008_161150310.jpg

I have the same crank on my late Dads bike, the original was too ninety's! The bike hangs on a wall, having been sympathetically updated (completed changed). I polished the crank with a drill and mop and it looks properly expensive now, , maybe unnecessary on a gravel bike but if you have a spare an hour?

The SunTour cantis can sometimes (depending on the frame) feel a bit underwhelming and this is a result of the brakes forcing some seat stay flex in the area of the brake boss. A booster is probably a good idea. Would prefer a 50min full build video for Part 3.
@prestachuck28675 жыл бұрын
Retro Mod Agreed. I think @joncannings would greatly benefit from installing brake boosters front and rear. They would not only improve braking performance, but they can prevent catastrophic frame or fork failure. #gcntech
