Yeah yeah yeah, I'm 61. My dad had a boat the entire time i was growing up. He loved to deep sea fish. Never got over being seasick in all those years. Went on two cruises at 26 and 58, sick both times. I also had that odd sensation of when you're finally on land but feel like you're moving still. I can go on trains and planes. Occassionally I'll get a bit ill in a car if I have no air on me. I've tried the bands , ginger etc. Nothing works but the drugs. I love the water and I like boats, it drives me nuts that I get ill. My dad used to think it was all in my head. Maybe, I used to get lots of ear infections as a child. I've even gotten sick watching the movie 1918, can't stand a moving camera, couldn't watch my son play video games back in the day. I'm hopeless lol.

I'm listening to this on Amazon right now and want to add something. The difference between men and women is also progesterone, which causes all sorts of vestibular issues. I have terrible motion sickness, I can't even watch a PARADE. sometimes I wonder if I damaged my inner ear as a child from all the centrifugal force activities (like spinning too hard on a tire swing). Who knows.

How fascinating. I knew about the poison thing and the disconnect between movement but didn't know what demographics of the population was susceptible to it. Neither did I know about sway theory. Interesting info about possible remedies and things to do (or not do).

Worst thing to give me motion sickness was playing Doom in the 90s. I can't play 1st person games even today. Movies where they move the camera around a lot also do it. Apologies, but listening to you talk about it is making me queasy. I'll listen to the next one. Love your work ... but ... 🤢

Same Doom and Wolfenstein 3d were the worst. I cant play first person games either. Some 3rd person games make me dizzy if there is a puzzle with things spinning like in parts of Zelda BOTW

Me too. I can't play first or third person games. Even games with panning like AoE2 or The Sims gets me if I pan around too much. Really sucks that I can't play pretty much any AAA or popular games but I'm spoilt for choice with the amount of games being released so there's always something. Same with movies. Absolutely no vlogging either unless the person puts the camera down somewhere but I don't feel like I'm missing out on much there
