She married the lead guitarist in her band, Chris Perez in 1992 when she was only 20 years old. Prior to that they were friends, but fell in love. They had to marry in secret because her father didn't approve of their relationship. You should definitely watch the Selena movie 👍😊

In the last clip with her iconic dress, when she starts singing you can see her husband in the back joining in with his guitar. She acted in one film but a small part of a mariachi singer w Johnny depp and Marlon Brando, she made two songs for the film when the soundtrack was released they didn’t include her but when they saw the impact that her death caused they wanted to include them to make more bucks. They were included in her English crossover album that was unfortunately never finished. One of the songs was “Baby I’m in heaven” which was given too Rebby Jackson Selena was a huge fan of the Jacksons especially Janet. Their is a snippet of her unfinished song “oh no I’ll never fall in love again” it’s beautiful. Cristina Aguilera was also given one of Selena’s songs for her debut album called “so emotional” it would’ve gone hard with Selena’s vocals. She also acted in a Mexican soap opera as herself for a few episodes (: she was a huge business women she was doing things artists weren’t even doing back then. I’m sure she could’ve become a billionaire.

she was just starting to break out in english music as well and was making an english album "I Could Fall In Love" and in my opinion one of her best songs "Dreaming Of You " man if you watch that movie and then you hear that song you heart just freakin breaks every time. i think it was the last song she recorded and she never got to make a music video for it ,so to me i always remember the last scenes of that movie when i listen to the song . also you need to watch the movie so it can really hit home how tragic her story was

My favorite part is 5:02 bc her first language is English and Spanish is her 2nd and she always made little mistakes with her pronunciation or would accidentally mix things around. In the clip they ask what’s her favorite part of the bus and she says her bed then she jokes and says the bathroom then she try’s to be serious and say her bed again but gets confused and says the restroom all serious which makes her crack up 😂😂😂 she was so goofy 🥺😩

Woman* Also as an American going back to Mexico you are often told you are not Mexican because you weren’t born there, even if your roots are Mexican. There’s a saying “ni de aquí ni de allá” not from here, nor there. Because being born & growing up in America you’re always called Mexican. But once you go to Mexico you’re told you don’t belong there either because your parents decided to go to a foreign country and you happened to be born there. So she also had to fight that type of mentality, but since she had such an amazing personality she quickly won the Mexican people over, & let me tell you that is a very hard thing to do.
