Selena Gomez Admits Heartbreak Inspired Her Best Music In Rare Intv

Selena Gomez is getting honest about heartbreak, her mental health, and her battle with Lupus in a rare new interview for the Twilio SIGNAL 2023 conference. On Thursday, The "Single Soon" singer joined Twilio's Chief Marketing Officer, Joyce Kim, for a candid discussion about her life, and opened up about how her personal experiences have influenced the work she does. "When I was going through a heartbreak I immediately, you know, wrote my best music and, and wanted to be there for every woman or a man or whoever, you know, going through that journey. And then there was a kidney transplant I walked through, all these things that may seem like they could bring someone down I try my hardest to say least they're not alone and if I keep going hopefully that means someone else can keep going 'cause, I don't want to always do it. But I want to for them more so than myself at times." she said. "I'm a work in progress and it's just one day at a time." The "Only Murders In The Building" star also shared more about the impact and mission statement of her beauty brand, Rare Beauty, and why it's important to her. During a rapid-fire round, she also admitted what her favorite song from her catalog is and it's a track many fans think is about her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber. Selena Gomez has helped me through some of the hardest and most challenging/ painful & traumatic times / situations of my life…. I am always so inspired by her and through her music and forever grateful and thankful for all that she stands for. My life has been filled with challenges the past several years, medically, emotionally, mentally and physically and I have had her music on repeat as well as wearing rare beauty to feel like myself again. I love makeup / fashion so much and so I started to use those as my “safe space” from the messiness in my life (starting at age 14, I’m 26 now…) and would use fashion and makeup as my “armor”… Now that my entire left side of my body is filled with CRPS it’s harder to open things sometimes, but it has NEVER been too difficult or painful to open up Rare Beauty boxes, compacts, or products in general. ❤ I can’t even begin to describe how lovely that is.
