Selena Gomez is getting honest about being single. In a candid new interview with SiriusXM Hits 1 LA with Tony Fly and Symon the "Lose You To Love Me" singer opened up about her relationship status and how she's embracing her independence while promoting her new track "Single Soon." "I think everybody goes through the phase of, 'oh, it'd be nice to like have someone,' and I get that. But you know, I'm just enjoying where I'm at and I, I just want to be happy with who I am so that whenever that person comes into my life, I can just have them add on to me instead of being this insecure, you know, person that I normally used to be," she told the hosts. During the conversation she also opened up about what she looks for in a partner. "I mean, you gotta be, you gotta be cool, man. Not cool in the sense that people think you're cool. You just gotta be nice and like, please make me laugh and also just be good to my family and people around you."

My ex-wife and I were married for 12 years, she always wanted to drag me around, show me off like I’m some trophy… She was an extrovert, loved parties, getting compliments, and attention. I, on the hand, am an introvert. Eventually we both realized we had nothing in common. I even dressed in sweats on purpose so she would stop bugging me about going out. If I do, I am NOT CHANGING. She now parties with her new husband. I married another woman more compatible, we have kids now, both loves sitting at home, watching movies, love drawing portraits, and reading books together. In other words, if people don’t have common values, hobbies, interests, there will be nothing to talk about besides gossips, and no genuine connection. Wish I didn’t get married only for the sake of “impressing” my family. It is ok to be single, it is ok to wait for the right one instead of rushing everything.
