As a teenager I had anxiety attacks daily on my way out of the house and was left to fend for myself until I was back in home after the uni lessons were finally over. Some days were absolutely miserable and some were better. I still remember that sickening feeling even though I didn’t know what it even was back in the time. I wasn’t even aware of the word anxiety. I thought something was wrong with me because the rest were normal and I was not. Nobody helped. I did it myself and it ended only when I realized that nothing I was giving any importance ever really mattered. Once I set my foot out of that place I was finally relieved. That liberating feeling will never leave my memory. I changed my university, picked another place, another path and other people. Ever since I haven’t had any anxiety bouts. I realized that I was no less and nobody was any better or more important. They held no value because I finally mattered enough for myself. It’s been 14 years since and I know that it’s possible to put an end to it. Whatever causes your anxiety, I know you can and you will fight and win. The light is coming. You’re strong, you are no less than anyone else, you are able, you matter, you are precious. Take the power back! You’ve got this, love. The world is your oyster. Go and conquer it. I absolutely am confident that you have a great journey ahead and you’re going to look back one day and be proud of yourself.

I live with chronic pain and immediately thought the same thing! Her body is so tense, braced, and curved inward. Her smile is the same and you can see her eyes are struggling to stay open and alert. All of those things happen to me during flare-ups too. I'm sure she was on pain meds but had to power through whatever residual pain there was which seems like a lot :(

She’s had chemotherapy to suppress her over-active immune system. I’m sure she’s on corticosteroids and immunosuppressants. My aunt passed away from lupus.
