My son has been suicidal the past couple months because of this. He is twenty-three and extremely handsome but says he can't meet people because when he introduces himself all they want is his Instagram to check him out. The girls will never just give him the phone number or just want to have a regular conversation, they only care what kind of car he drives and how many followers he has. He has a Honda Accord and no girl will touch him because of it. He works hard and has his own little studio apartment but that is viewed by girls today as being a loser. Kasey, please, please tell your son that there is nothing wrong with him and to not give up hope!! I'm not on social media either, I have an IG page but updated it once in two years at Christmas. I just don't like to share my life with the world, you know? It is so unfortunate in today's world that people have whole relationships online and either never meet or don't know even how to have nor carry a conversation. Everything has to be through a text, and I've noticed so many young people that don't make eye contact and get very awkward during a simple conversation. Do you think your son would benefit from therapy? I can see your concerns just from your words, and I wish there was something I could do or say to help. I'm going to be 44, and I do get asked out sometimes, but it's only young men, mid-twenties, and thanks to my mothers genetics, I look younger. I blush when they ask me out or, of course, ask for my social media or am I on this platform or tik tok, you get what I mean. I'm alwayyys so very flattered but I tell them my age and I'm "old enough to be your mother". I am of the generation too where I like to meet a man naturally and I am just not able to ask a guy out but I'm giving him all the signs that we have chemistry but men my age just flirt but don't ask me out for a coffee or dinner, so idk what to do either. I just know that there are younger girls that I chat with at my tanning salon or the spa, and they're starting to lose interest in social media. I found it to be very time-consuming and constantly have my phone pinging and having to respond all the time. It felt like work. If you lived in Northern Ohio, I know several very pretty girls, your son's age that I'm sure would be interested in your handsome son. Idk how you would feel about if you started chatting with another mother at a like a nail salon or the grocery store in line or wherever and as we women talk, maybe she might have a daughter your son's age? My mom and dad are in their mid-seventies and my mother will meet people in their book club or their cooking club and she still tries to play cupid for me and it's so sweet of her (hasn't worked out...yet). But please tell your son to be a Hopeful Romantic! One day, when he least expects it, he'll meet a girl. It honestly sounds like he's going for the wrong kind of girls. There's lots of girls out there that don't have that "Instagram girl"/"baddie" look that I know a lot of young men can't help but be attracted to since those girls look like perfection in every way. But those girls are only into guys who can't afford to pay for the massive amounts of money they pour into their looks. Maybe sit down with your son and look at some of the girls he's trying to date, and show him what they do/spend to look like that like saying, this girl has highlights: expect $150/per month max, she gets lip filler: $100 per month (I'm guessing), her make up is decked out: probably $30 a month at least, she has name brand and the most stylish clothes: $250 per month at least. You'll need at least $500 to devote just to this girls looks and that's not including entertainment/going out which she will expect for her Instagram photos and she'll expect him to invest a fair amount of money as well into his looks/possessions... If you do that, he'll see why these girls are only into money.

I am sure Wahlberg is a reformed nice guy and all, but he has more than one hate crime on his record. It isn’t that esoteric knowledge bc he himself recently tried to get it expunged from his record for business reasons.
