Thanks very much for this education in selenium intensification, I haven't performed this process yet and I feel much better about it now. Will the selenium 1:3 solution keep for months? Doughnut time!

I reuse it several times, although I don't really keep track.

Did you try to print it before deciding to intensify it? One tip is to put the film in the tray emulsion up to eliminate the possibility of scratching. Also, it’s a good idea to fix after selenium toning as Kodaks toner contains hypo.

Yes, I tried printing it. Too flat for Kallitype. The film always goes into the tray emulsion up, unless it's double-sided xray, then I use a flat-bottomed, smooth tray. I always fix after, and give HCA bath before washing.

Couldn't you use a sepia toner? Similar to a pyro developer, that would block more UV, adding a filter.
