Self adjusting clutch cable reset- an easy way

Nice one, love these hacks! I guess if you're doing it rather frequently it's totally worth the time invested. I've also "specialized" a couple of tools for common or frequent tasks. Namely one 15mm wrench, with a 500mm long extension welded into it. Allows to press accessory belt self adjusting tensioner on most cars. With the use of my shoulder! Leaving both hands free for other operations. It's real a time saver and way cheaper than "commercial" versions. ;-)

Got a clutch cable today to replace my failing one on my 206, I was panicking that I wouldn’t be able to use it as it didn’t have the retaining clip, but hopefully I’ll be able to string some zip ties together using the technique you showed

Good luck. They have to be very tight to compress the internal spring. Might take a few goes to get it right. Install cable, connect to pedal and lever at gearbox, then just cut zip ties.

I have peugeot 206.in the first gear while car starts mooving clutch is shaking every time.can unjusted cable be the reason for that .also from time to time clutch pedal stucks I press position.if I get the anwer I really appreciate

i do not think the cable can lead to shaking. It could be oil on flywheel. I'm not a mechanic, but my guess is you could try reving the engine with handbrake on, and slightly lift clutch so that it is just slipping so that it can get hot and burn off any oil. If the pedal falls right to the floor and stays there, I think that probably is the cable.

@@dfghjkuytr yes pedal stucks down than I stop driving and relase.that happens from time to time.maybe that can be the case cos whole gear box housing is covered with oil.thanks my friend
