Looks really good mate, I've just bought a high top vivaro with plans to convert it. I found you easy to watch and listen to, most KZbinrs are boring as hell. Curious to know what solar panels and controller, battery, lights, tap and plumbing and other such gumpf you went for, where you sourced them, etc etc. Especially interested in the swivel seat. Can you do it yourself or does it need to be to a certain safety code. What about the drivers seat? But, well done, looks good and is functional. Shows what can be done on a smaller budget from a home garage.
@Robswoodworkingdiy8 ай бұрын
Hi pal, leave it with me and I’ll did the info out for you. The seats were from a ford galaxy. Minor adjustment to original base and you’ll need a drivers side base for the passenger side if you go single seat there. Solar I used renogy175watt kit, taps cheap household mixer tap£15. Lights pack of 6 for £20. Agm 110amp battery. Submersible pump.

Wow, thanks for your speedy reply. I appreciate any help you can give. Both my seats are already singles. So no drama there. Already gave diesel heater and leisure battery fitted as its an ex- gas board van. Thanks, Mark.

Hi, thanks for the comment, No I didn’t use a vapour barrier, I’ve been a caravan and Motorhome engineer for nearly 16 years and not one manufacturer who builds with coach built or van conversions use a vapour barrier. Hi thanks for the comment, if being honest no I’m not, but I’ve been a hobbyist woodworker and cabinet builder for the last 15 years. And over the years my skill set has massively improved. I have a movano for my work vehicle which in the coming weeks will be getting stripped and completely reworked as since selling my camper I regret it so I’m going to convert my work van into a multi use work/camper van, removable rear bed and cabinets with multi purpose based on IKEA cubes so I can swap over easily. I’ve just stripped the old pretensioners off the old seats and plugged them in under the seats. I just need to figure out what’s stopping it from swivelling both ways and 360 degrees then I’d be happy.

Why didn't you put a vapor barrier on?
@Robswoodworkingdiy10 ай бұрын
I’m a caravan and Motorhome service engineer, manufacturers who build Motorhomes whether that be coach built or a van conversion there’s never a vapour barrier, plus other professional builders I speak to never install them and for me I just think they cause bigger issues down the line. Just make sure you add ventilation both high level and low level. You’ll never have issues then unless water gets in from outside. Hope this helps.
