Hi thanks 👍🏻 much appreciated. I don’t have a public ig with any useful photos I’m affraid, this video is probably best effort I’ve made 😂 in terms of describing the build. Def recommend the layout of your not 6ft or over. I tried the layout the long way, and making the bed all the time was a pain in the arse. Fixed bed much easier and loads of storage. Oh wow your van is amazing. I have the same van & am thinking of doing I few changes in mine now I’ve seen yours. It’s so much more spacious & definitely a better layout than I have in mine. I love the seats you have in the front & taking one out is a fantastic idea. I’m just wondering where you purchased your seats & what price they are. Thanks

Thanks very kind. 👍🏻 we’ve played around a lot with the layout and ripped eveything out a couple of times. The seats were just from a local parts breaker in north London. They needed cleaning up when we got them. £150 for the pair. Some washing and scrubbing later, they came up well. 👍🏻

9:11 does the bed fit between structural columns to be able to get 180x120?

Yes it fits between the structure of the van, nothing steel is modified. I raised the bed a little too and cut out the insulation and panels I’d previously added. 180 length is approx. But if you measure a Vivaro between sides above the arches you’ll see what I mean 🙂👍🏻👍🏻

If you're very short you might need a ladder but anyone over 4ft should manage.

Thanks! The bed is about 60cm off the floor of the van, maybe more. I’ve forgotten the exact measurement I’m affairs. It’s not possible to sit up on the bed, but laying/sitting is fine. And there’s a massive amount of storage underneath. (The reason I did it) 👍🏻

Hey thanks 🙏 👍🏻 I think it’ll depend on how big your chains/covers are. You might have just enough clearance with smaller chains. I’m on standard suspension so there’s not a huge amount of tyre/arch clearance. If you have suspension lift kit it should be fine. The BFG tyres will probably get you through most snow 🙂 but I guess there will be maybe laws or times you just use the chains. Good luck 👍🏻👍🏻

Thank you! No we made a custom mattress out of foam strips laid horizontally. Easier to remove and got the exact size I wanted.

For a not so big van you have everything you need. If you don't mind me asking. Did you do all the work yourself. How much did the conversion cost from start to finish and how long did it take in total. Great van though. Love it

Thanks 👍🏻Yes, we did the conversion ourselves. Cutting the windows in was the trickiest bit. Took us 2 months for the main conversion - stripping, insulation and interior build. Loads of tweaks since 2020 though. Few thousand £ on all the bits, it adds up. (Tyres, solar, electrics, roof box, windows, timber, insulation, etc).

Thanks 👍🏻 bed head room; not enough to sit up, but enough to lean up if that’s makes sense, I think about 70cm from memory. Originally when we first did the conversion, the bed was lower but we raised it for more storage.

@@stevebeard9656 i sleep diagonally a tiny bit, i’m 6ft and it’s fine with the cut outs, but if you don’t have the cut outs/fully insulated it’ll be a struggle.

Hi thanks 👍🏻👍🏻- the 5kw is a pretty meaty heater but in winter it’s good, takes about 10min to heat the van from nothing then idles pretty well. We use the van in winter as a day van, and after swimming or rain it’s perfect for drying out. Summer we barely use it, apart from a blast every once in a while to clear the carbon. What alternatives were you thinking of? Be good to get more ideas. 👍🏻👍🏻

Hi - no problems with the tyres. Only very slight rubbing with steering on absolute full log. The narrow window is just a universal style sliding window from ebay. Thanks 👍🏻
