HEY FRIENDS!! I finally did the thing!! Today I'm sharing my Self Care for Actors / Night Off from Rehearsal / Nighttime / #skincare / planner / everything else routine! Basically, in this video, I'm going to share how I center myself, unwind, and reset to become the best actor and cast mate I can be. This #selfcare routine also de-stresses me and makes me super happy, so I hope it does the same for you!

Oh girl!!! The self-care routine is intense as I am playing such an emotional badass character like Shelby in Spitfire Grill. So unfortunately for me I do have 5 hours of rehearsals a night 5 nights a week so days off are rare and few between. So after rehearsals this is my self-care routine: 1. I always do an intensive 1 hour of character detoxing where u get out of character and try to make sure I am no longer in my characters headspace as I feel that can sometimes be hard on an actor when playing a character like Shelby. 2. Then I like to clean up my room because it makes me feel calm when I am able to sleep in a clean room. 3. Then I eat a little snack while jamming to my showtunes..... currently obsessed with Only Us from Dear Evan Hansen the Ben Levi Ross and Taylof Trensch version or of course Dogfight. 4. Then I typical deep clean my face with all the good stuff. 5. Brush the teeth because duh. 6. Check my schedule for the next day to see what i am doing in rehearsals. 7. Plan my next day so I am not worried about it tomorrow. 8. I steam, we gotta cool that voice down. 9. Call my nana to tell her goodnight and that I love her. Also, gossip about my rehearsals because nana has to know. 10. Turn down the bed, turn on twinkle lights, put on some essential oils, and a great movie as well. 11. Set my alarm. 12. Then I tell myself five things I was proud to do that day and I read my affirmation for the day. 13. And right before sleeping remind myself that I am doing great things!!

On my nights off, I read and do bubble baths too! In one night, I'll read a full play (one that's drastically different than the show I'm in). It helps me make discoveries. By seeing through-lines and symbolism in a new play reading, I can think about new choices and symbolism in the show I'm in. I discover new plays and monologues so I'm ready for a new audition the minute the show closes. I've found it super helpful when doing shows back-to-back.

My routine is homework (gotta keep that middle school grind going), dinner, shower, and skin care. I’ve been super obsessed with skin care lately. I have somewhat bad acne and it’s been really helping. It also makes me feel a lot more productive because if I didn’t do it I’d just kinda sleep and not do anything to my skin

OMG, you are so right about keeping up with industry stuff cause its very different then it was in 2014/2014 ect. I've heard others say just focus on the craft only which yes is important but to prepare for where to use your craft in auditions ect yes current Industry news is so so important. Great video. Whenever I get a night off of rehearsals I’ll first get out of my school uniforms, do my homework, eat some dinner, clean my room, take a shower, put in pjs, do my skin care routine plus brush my teeth, go in to bed, read a book maybe a chapter or two or whenever I could put it down, then go and look at my emails and my rehearsals schedule to see if I have rehearsals the next day, watch some Netflix or KZbin, then go to bed.

this is my self care routine: i always stretch out my legs cause they hurt a ton and so my muscles stay warm on days when i don't dance. I take a warm shower and do a face mask and a skincare routine and I always watch a musical of some sort wheter it's a proshot or a movie or something and I bingewatch shows that I haven't had time to watch ( cause of rehersals and school stuff) and I ALWAYS BULLET JOURNAL cause it's my favorite thing in the world and I feel very relaxed and I don't have a lot of time to. Right now every night is a "no rehearsal night". The last show I was in closed about four weeks ago. So I spend everyday and/or night getting ready for upcoming audition(s), those that I know about. Then I spend time getting ready for hypothetical auditions that might appear on the horizon for frequently reoccurring revivals, i.e. certain Shakespeare, Gilbert and Sullivan and Sondheim shows. And then I spend time re-editing a play that I have written and that nobody seems to want to produce. After that I spend time drinking tequila.
