You can begin by applying trigger point pressure release to your hamstrings and lower legs first. Here are the links from my channel. Hamstrings: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6LLe2SrlpWGmZI kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKLXgY2im755bas

Look to our video on the quadratus lumborum as the source of referred sensation into hip/butt and the QL muscle could be making you lean to one side. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5SllGaPqqd0eMU

so I sit on my legs a lot and recently my Vastus Lateralis has started to have waves of serious pain. I've been RICE-ing it and taking asprin but it's been incredibly painful all day. Even in the RICE-ing situation there will be waves of pain. Any recommendations?

There is no data to show that ice is a helpful therapy for reducing the problems caused by trigger points. Consider using a warm water bag from www.TigerTailUSA.com Also, Change your work posture, and if by your comment "I sit on my legs alot" that means you tuck one leg under your butt to sit, you will need to stop doing that as it is hyper-flexing your knee and over stretching all your quads including Vastus Lateralis.
