Agree with what you said about the bride, but just working on a negative image is easier said than done. I’m overweight, at the age of 54. I was slim until I had my son 25 years ago and developed anxiety and depression. I’m an RN so I have to be professional and be the one who laughs,encourages my team,etc……..but most days I cry on the way home because I hate the way I look. I’m on medication, I have medical appointments regularly. Whilst all these interventions help,at the end of the day I feel exactly like this poor woman.

This is incredibly touching, and I love how the consultants make their brides feel, but these always seem like such personal, intimate moments that it makes me a little uncomfortable that they're put on TV. Having a breakdown and admitting you hate yourself is probably not something you expect to do when you sign up to be on this show, and it feels a little voyeuristic to have access to it. But ey, maybe that's just me. I sincerely hope all the brides who go on the show have a fabulous, affirming experience and reflect on it only with happiness and warmth.

Sugar is REALLY addictive, it also stops your body knowing when it is full so you keep eating. Processed food has sugar in it so you buy more, it also has few nutrients so you are nutrient starving! Big business needs this so you keep buying more food, it is not your fault! It also makes you depressed so you need to comfort eat. Been there and got the T-shirt, loads of love to you!

When I bought my dress 4 years ago, I wish I'd had consultants like Jo and Al. My first time dress shopping involved a consultant who clearly didn't want to be there. It didn't help that my mum was pressuring me to wear white and I didn't want to wear white because the shade made me look like a ghost. When I did eventually buy a dress I didn't tell the consultants that I was looking for my wedding dress. I told them I was a bridesmaid and that the bride wanted her bridesmaids to wear as dark a red as possible but the style was up to each bridesmaid. I even had a patch of material with the colour I wanted. I went on my own because I didn't really expect to find something I liked that day and my friends weren't free to come with me that day. I ended up buying a burgundy chiffon 'bridesmaids dress' that I absolutely HATED on first sight on the hanger because to me it looked like something my nanna would have worn. Turned out that it was the most comfortable and most flattering of the gowns I tried on. I put that dress on and I felt like me on cloud 9.
