A very well thought out Toyota Hiace camper van and for a reasonably large van so much space a place to cook eat and sleep thats all you need and the use of light wood so bright and cheery and thr best thing its a Toyota

That ticks all the boxes. Simple, functional, not crammed. Yet it has everything you need. One of the best I have seen. I drove commercial vans for years. Often thought they would make a good camper, before vehicle camping was a thing. Can buy a good second hand one cheap.

No solar on this one the 190amp battery’s are charged from the engine on a split charge relay.

Hi, the conversation material cost was about £2000 then plus my labour. It’s took a good few months doing it on the weekends between my full time job. :)

Hi Louis.. Great video, thanks.... when the rear door is open above the cooking pull out area, is that Okay to use in the rain. As in, if you have the rear door open above you, as a canopy, but can that be relied on to not ingress water? the hiace and the nv350 nissan seem to have channels that take the run off to the sides, but they go behind the rear lights and into the body work. do you use your set up in the rain is what I'm saying I guess.

Thanks. No I used the inside cooking setup when it rained. Unless you have an awning tent or side guards for the tail gate you a quite exposed in the rain.

Thanks 😊 The Granvia has a big petrol engine which is not good on fuel consumption. Fuel is expensive in the UK. And the granvia has windows all around which doesn’t make it the easiest to convert (unless you’re going for a certain style).

Such a great clean build. That swivel seat looks like a game changer. I'm considering a hiace and wonder if I should go with a high roof or not. The regular roof vans are much less expensive, what do you think? Cheers.

Did you buy Hiace in Japan and took it overseas or do they sell it by that name where you are? I can't tell but what I am sure of is that you are not in the states. Nevertheless, I was eyeing on the Hiace in Japan where I was born/raised. Thanks for the tour of your van. It is fantastic!

Yeah they where sold here in the UK as Toyota Hiace. But people do import the 4x4 versions and the granvia.

It has a 9mm ply under layer secured to 20mm battens which are bonded to the floor and then 9mm oak effect laminate on top. Before I put this down I laid sound deadening and insulation on the floor.

Well. At the risk of regurgitating the same overused platitude, this really is one of the very best conversions out there. You know that feeling when you find yourself watching something in awe? A lot of mmms, huhs & ahhs in The Thinker pose! Not sure I could pare down my stuff as successfully as you have tho! Oh, and switching the seats & adding the Granvia step plastic was just brilliant. All without a single beg for a like, so you got one 👍

I put the hiace tyres on, it was a straight swap. The shogun wheels are the same diameter and only 1” wider.
