I'd say collapsing and absorbing the shock/break fall. If you can roll backwards, you can pretty much eliminate any type of damage you may receive. Especially if you lock in for a choke.

It would be nice if you could do a video regarding rolling backwards and breaking a fall. Thanks Aq!

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate the response. I haven't had to use my "stand up game" for about 25 years, God willing I will never have to... wash somebody up, lol. Good work!

A lot better defense than the turtle strategy most people try to teach. You absolutely need some offense when defending wild street punches.

I like your approach, it's simple (I mean that in a good way). Just one minor detail: The arm bar you showed doesn't work on everybody. If somebody can hyperextend their elbow joint, it won't work. (I know this because it happens to be the case with me :p It has confused many training partners :D ) People with such flexible joints aren't common but they are a factor worth including. But otherwise: Good video and thanks for uploading it!

how about a defense againts a quick one two. i like to do a rolling downward block and keep rolling until the face is open and roll into a backfist.

Will complex motors skills work in the out of control moment?
@idontanswerquestionsflex15807 жыл бұрын
Thank you
@TheRobbie4011 жыл бұрын
In a sudden out of control moment, human physiology, psychology and emotions will dictate how the body responds.Many of the worlds leading force on force experts accept this and aim to develop principle based approaches as opposed to techniques that rely on complex and fine motor movements. Have you come ever come across 'Sharpening the Warriors Edge by Bruce Siddle' or studied any of Tony Blauer's work on the SPEAR system? Krav Maga is another good system for out of control moments.

What *is* a haymaker? Best I can find out talking to all kinds of people, it just sounds like a fist thrown for everything the person has - a jab, an uppercut, a roundhouse - several times.
@walterworth89010 жыл бұрын
a haymaker to simply put a caveman like swing to your head or body if you would watch street fights on youtube for analysis you will have a better under standing i hope this helps, god bless.
@SolaceAndBane10 жыл бұрын
The name comes from the movement when using a scythe, which is why it's called "HAYmaker". It's slow but really, really powerful if it connects. Instead of using mostly the arm muscles, it involves the whole body generating huge momentum to swing your arm like a mace into your enemy.

walter worth people mostly use those when they are drunk it's a terrible punch, but then again if you don't see it coming and it connects, it basically puts you to sleep
