I have background in the culinary world which I find very valuable in perfumery as well because composing a fragrance is very much like composing flavors. Taste and Smell are closely intertwined. Especially for foodie/ gourmand accords (although I've found its helpful with all scent categories), I have a stronger grasp on what the smells/ flavors are made up of and all the tiny nuances. Like how a sweet taste or smell will also have nuances of bitter, salty, sour, and so on. My experience in food and drink comes in extremely handy. I have noticed many chefs, mixologists, and foodies also having strong interests in fragrance like myself.

Christophe hello. Can you give some tips about paper smell. Need to create a woody dry paper perfume with also a calamus note, and I used cypriol, kephalis, cashmeran, norlimbanol, some karanal, benzaldehyde hint and some mild wood. But i dont reach to expand the dryness, maybe also because also because calamus sweet note. Thanks
