"Learned helplessness" -- this term is powerful. You think your way into problems, the only way out is to change your thinking, which is perhaps the most challenging task for any human spirit.
@MarcoSanderCoaching4 жыл бұрын
Yes, a fundamentally different approach needs to be taken. It starts with the insight that something is going wrong which is already very difficult for most people because they need to accept the fact that their current concept about life does not work.

Nice take on the topic. In this time, when negativity surrounds us it is really difficult to increase our self esteem. Habit of gratitude is one of my coping mechanism whenever I feel down. I do hope in the generation to come they would be more concern on how they can boost self esteem of others rather than their ownself as that may be change our vision. Thanks for this wonderful documentary more power and keep safe!
@MarcoSanderCoaching4 жыл бұрын
Happy to hear that gratitude is a working coping mechanism for you. I agree. Being surrounded in a healthy environment is one of the key factors to improve self-esteem. It's like a tree that needs water, sun and good soil. We need a sense of autonomy, a feeling of competence and people around us that accept and love us as we are.

to put it simple, self-esteem is direct linked to liking yourself, to feeling good about yourself. now that we know what it is, how we get to have it ? it comes from the things we do. Majority of kids grow up in a environment where they could get anything they want, but their parents controlled their decissions ( how to speak, how to behave and so on). They didn't had much of choise of their own, beside going to college and getting drunk ( not trully boosts ur self-esteem, lol). The simple way to build up your self-esteem is to do the things you don't want to do ( example such as getting a job, studying for a exam, donating money to charity when you don't have much money, leaving a nice comment on a blog or social media). Easy way to temporary boost your self-esteem is to think ( and this is very important, because what you think you become), to think at achievements from your life ( it doesn't has to be for the world, but what really made an impact in your life, for yourself ). And now we came again to.. liking yourself. After you went to study when you didn't felt like doing it, went for a job, gave some money, helped someone, you do like yourself a bit more, even if the people around you don't know about this and may not fully support you. 2 important keys is to always explore the world and find new people (for your circle) and you do have to daily or very often do all of those 'don't want to do things' .

I am a schizophrenic with OCD ADD ADHD mild to moderate depression and anxiety issues. My mental problems when I was a young child and the depression and anxiety issues didn't start until my mid to late teens and never really went away. I am always the shy awkward type of person with my head to the ground never speaking up and constantly second guessing myself. I want to improve myself esteem and self confidence, but I don't know how. I would strongly prefer a recommendation video that could help with a soft speaker and soothing soft music in the background. Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the video, real self esteem depends on your personality and subconscious programs. If you will get free from sometimes not so positive programs you will have no other way to be dependent on others thoughts. We are you we are and others have less to do with it:-)

I'm feeling society always puts pressure on my looks,I'd say my self esteem has indeed blossomed ....but I'm no 20 yr old. In your 20s your desperate to fit in Keeping up" w no not the Kardashians" but society maybe the internet. There's plenty of garbage online that's dangerous & toxic to self esteem. I feel self esteem is how you feel ABOUT YOURSELF YOUR BODY INSIDE/ OUTSIDE SPIRITUALLY YOUR FAMILY YOUR PETS EVEN EVEN OTHERS NOT TO KEEP UP W THE KARDASHIAN TYPE PERSON" Meaning I know,I'm very very attractive female. I've never used ANY PLASTIC SURGERY TO GET HERE Simply clean living....for years.... I'm also bipolar so my life isn't a bed of roses though,I've dealt in the past w eating issues. I've fixed the ED but bipolar still here. Rapid cycling) but this is a mental illness! I try & NOT LET THAT EFFECT MY SELF ESTEEM By educating others I feel safe w telling them I'm bipolar. I always try & do the best I can today evaluate End of the day. As a Buddhist what we are kind to our inner core. I try to meditate Example learn that material objects no matter how much. Are worth nothing When it comes to your own life, Family life pets lives. My childhood I ......it was rough. Really not speak on it except it made me a perfectionist. Though I never doubted their love, But I wasn't allowed to discuss stuff that was important. VICTORIAN BRITISH AS IM 1/2 ENGLISH STIFF) Private) I've never fell in love lust yes. True love,like my mum & dad nope. Noe, It's too late. I also no longer want that in life. Your needs change as well When you get older. Social media..... You see perfection" Listen, It's not simply young girls! Even middle age ladies like me doubt ourselves. But remember.......they are usually plastic Gym & go to their own chefs etc etc. I've forever loved creativity modelling,writing,music,makeup,photography,designer things. Oh, I'm so aware I'll never afford Chanel any outfits. But I'm loving fashion shows! I'm a fashionista. If social media gets to you, Detox OFF IT AWHILE Cheers
