Hard to not have a lump in your throat when a man is strong enough to show emotion like that. Dogs are family, for sure. Thats a great buck, Dave. God bless workin dogs and the men and women that get to work with them.

The poor man’s power pole…….lol, I KNEW i wasn’t the only one using my trolling motor for an anchor! I did add a rope to tie off with, but as I get older, safety has become #1! That’s also why I hunt from a SADDLE! LOVE IT and thanks for taking us with you! I’m at the 15 minute mark…..getting exciting!

Nice deer Dave. I had a Boykin Spaniel named KoKo. She found 69 deer in her 13 years. Never once did I take a penny from anyone that she found a deer for. As a team we loved the challenges. She was the best. SC game Warden came to me once to find a poached deer. Didn't take her long. She was in a swamp and some places the water was 14 inches deep. She trailed it right up. We got calls all hours of the night. I sure miss that dog.

Fine buck and great video Dave. Wish your dad could have been there on it. Right before you start tracking, my wife said "I hope he watches out for SNAKES " I had an encounter with one just like him couple months ago in our hay shed. Too close for me. It was under a bale of hay I picked up !

Ha! I get it. I just had it imprinted in my head that he drifted right upon entering the timber when in fact, he stayed straight. I searched with haste instead of being methodical due to fear of waiting too late to get a dog (everyone being asleep) and having to wait until the following morning with temps not falling out of the 70s and having the meat go to waste, I looked right over the deers blood trail in the dried creek bed.
@vaughngarner73602 ай бұрын
I felt for the fella after losing his dog like that. Years ago I had several English setters that we Quail hunted with. Fantastic dogs! So many memories. I loved them all like family. Not a year goes by I don't think of them 4 or 5 times. Been 28 yrs ago I buried the last one. Hurts like it was last week. Congrats on the deer. Very nice.
