Moving my Unifi controller from PC to Home Assistant Yellow to its final home on my Synology NAS. This video covers the install of Unifi on the NAS as well as restoring my configuration from backup.

Thanks, very clear and concise, got mine migrated from a cloud hosted version to my Synology in about 15 mins. For anyone else tripped up on the exact settings, the latest Synology now uses 'Container Manager' rather than Docker but most of the settings are the same, they've just changed the order in the container creation wizard. The one setting you need to watch for is under networking - set it to 'host' rather than 'bridged' as that's the equivalent of 'use the same network' as mentioned in your video.

With DSM 7.2 or later, Docker is now Container Manager. BTW, you will find a folder called "docker" after installing Container Manager.

Hi Chris, I'm running at the moment Unifi Dream Machine SE in my house but have also QNAP. Do you know if I also can use Unfi Access and Protect in my QNAP like I'l using on Unifi Dream Machine?

Can you run other Unifi services such as Unifi Protect or Access if you host your own controller?

So basically, such a controller make any cloud account connection to unify obsolete? i think about to buy unify hardware but i do not want to use any sort of cloud accounts.

I need help! The password changed when I downloaded the Unifi backup from a portal account and uploaded it to the localhost account. I cannot log in to localhost due to an invalid username & password. Do you know how to fit it? Thank you
