Here is a poem I wrote the day I realized what self-love meant : In a feeling of self-love, A mesmerizing white dove Comes down from above To make my heart release Its feathers of inner peace Within my kingdom's walls, As the pain of past falls And the joy of the future calls. Her wings give me grace And her flight brightens my face. I've never know what it means to love myself until two days ago where I finally understood it. Self-love is absolutely from my perspective the most important, valuable and crucial gift you can give to yourself to be fulfilled, healthy and happy. I've felt ever since early childhood a profound emptiness in my heart. For as long as I can remember, I've had a deep rooted belief that I was unloved which created that emptiness, loneliness and void. The pain, confusion, sadness, madness, mistakes, hardships, errors, shame and humiliations I've felt and done in my life can directly be attributed to my lack of self-love. And now, as I write this, now finally knowing what it means to love oneself... I just feel compassion. I'm smiling at my old self with kindness. How could I have know to do any otherwise ? I just didn't know what loving myself meant or felt like. I am so grateful that I can FINALLY love myself.

Wow, this is amazing to have such insight! Thanks for sharing it. I decided to dive into the Path of Self Love that Christine founded this year and am really looking forward to deepening my inner journey around loving myself and healing those toxic and painful areas that lack worth. May peace be with you always!

over-staying is a failure; not being honest about the relationship is a failure; letting someone disrespect you in your inner circle is a failure. I totally agree.

Self love is #1. You cannot give away to others what you do not have. All love is self love and all hate is self hate. We love ourselves not in an arrogant way but through grace. When you judge another your body literally emits toxic chemicals and these chemicals stay in your body all day long. Likewise loving thoughts emit powerful hormones thatboost yourimmune system. This is scientific fact if we are willing to investigate.

we can transform relationships by giving them love, then moving away from the draining relationship fr a bit, so letting go is a part of the process. Some times people try hard to let go!

what do you do if you have children with someone you are in a relationship with where he's good for the kids, but not you? if your kids don't want you to leave but he is not fulfilling you. If staying would be bad for you and leaving is bad for the kids?
@kazuemai37958 жыл бұрын
That person cannot be truly good for your kids if he is not loving you. Please go to a wonderful therapist and make light inside yourself. You will absolutely make the right choice if you put in the work necessary to find out the truth about your relationship with yourself and that person. Kids cannot benefit from a good relationship with the other parent if you as a mother feel bad. It is impossible.

There's nothing as bad for children as a mother that's not happy! I've seen both sides: my mother who stayed, for the kids, in a marriage without any love and my own relationship whitch I ended because I didn't love the father of my children anymore. I think, I just gave a very good example for my daugthers to love and respect yourself.
@michelletulumello6618 жыл бұрын
Thanks guys. This has given me a lot of insight. To him our children are not the product of a loving Union between two people. I see now that he got into the relationship to have children and once that goal was accomplished saw no more need for me. it's a tragedy but the best way I can probably avert its negative effect is to get the hell out. He's not cruel or abusive just completely uncaring and businesslike, and totally without empathy. So I guess if you could say that is cruel then he is cruel. We haven't had anything to do with each other except for co-parenting for 4 years. He says he doesn't care if I date someone, but the man I love is too decent to come to the house and be with me because he doesn't want to get into the middle of it.

@Persidaify Don't you think if people know what to expect, it would be faster for them to find the gates and cross them? We all could use some little help from people who have already gone further ahead in the path. I feel i've personally gone past gate 2 in the last few months (i so identify with what Christine says... the toxic relationship with a 'sociopath' / 'narcissist' included) but i don't see any gate 3 in sight yet!

Be careful Christine, your statement to be the "Rockfeller of love" might be incorrect...I know what you meant to say, though, to my opinion, you should call things the way the really are...the name Rockfeller and love do not go together in the same sentence.

Three therapists. A six-figure job. An MBA. A big house. Oh you POOR baby. I want to hear from someone with REAL problems to overcome. C'mon. And then you had the nerve to put down everyone who has to work to survive as opposed to pitch their latest book. "I could be marketing cheese someplace." You are in no position to tell anyone how to live.

just remember no one is perfect. self love is a journey .we cannot reach perfection. we shouldn't expect ourselves to be perfect nor should we expect others to be. you are reading too much into her body language/vocal tone. I do the same thing sometimes when watching people on the tele, ;but I think her message is very good and pure.
