To answer your question about France, Yeah France in any real competetive game is supposed to fall BUT it is still fun to play France. Your goal as France in multiplayer is to cause as much damage to the invading Germans and hold France for as long as possible. France has some navy to help the UK out, but your real job in the Allies is to build up your colonies so you can build some nice Tanks or marines to invade in DDAY. There is nothing more fun in multiplayer than a successful DDAY but it is rare (at least with my old teammates)

The British came up with the first self propelled artillery...not the Germans. The Gun Carrier Mk 1 was fielded by Britain in 1917. Overall, the Allies had better technology than Germany did in WW2...there were only a small number of areas where German tech surpassed what the US, UK, or USSR had...and a significant number of those had no impact on the war. You already know Germany could not win the war, so if they had lasted any longer than they did, they just would have been nuked first instead of Japan. You also know that Germany did not have enough fuel to have an army made up of only self propelled artillery, it would just run out of gas 10 time faster than they did in real life. Germany used more horses than motorized vehicles in Barbarossa, and they had to use more and more horses as the war went on and they had less and less fuel to use. This is all a hilarious farce that proves that HOI4 is 100 percent broken. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
