I did my own work. I did have moments I wanted to rush the process but when I felt that scarcity reaction, I reined in myself. I also was tempted to use a vanity press, but here again, I stopped myself. Every single time my ego wanted to take charge, I paused myself. I reminded myself my story is important, so I wanted to present a book I worked on myself. My book is about grief. If I resorted to outside sources, I believe it might taint my mission. It’s a silly integrity to hold onto when book writing can be AI-ed, but my mission was and remains personal. Stephanie is super right. Author of “Living with my Dead Husband”

Thank you so much for all of the advice! I am finally getting around to actually writing a fantasy story that was inspired by a dream I had 7 years ago that’s been on my mind a lot. I’ve thought about using Wattpad as a lower cost way to start getting exposure for it once I have written it but I’m very worried about someone stealing my idea going that route so it’s nice to understand some of the ways I can protect my book
