It works I’ve seen judges give chances because the mom showed emotion and love and sorrow over the image of losing her kids…. When she said no… wow. It sounds like they basically had a kid every yr or so. However, neither seems to want to parent. Mom's flat affect is very disturbing! When she says they tricked her & brought the wrong kid, it was clear her rights should be terminated. Dad acts like he needs a parent as opposed to IS a parent. These kids are better off where they are permanently. They need love & stability!

Although I agree that she has no business being a mom, flat affect can be a side effect of antidepressants or a symptom of autism or even PTSD. Removing children from a loving parent (though certainly not the case here) would certainly cause PTSD. I was chastised for having flat affect during my involvement with CPS, but once the judge dismissed the case against me, my emotions immediately came flooding back. It was extremely hurtful to be called cold and uncaring when my brain was trying to protect itself. In this case, it appears straightforward, just saying things aren't always what they seem.

I agree some CPS workers really don't work to reunify families, and there is bias in their reports. They are overwhelmed with high case loads and burned out. However, neither of these parents are financially able to care for these kids, they don't have transportation, & aren't putting forth any real effort with any kind of urgency, to see their kids or get them back. I don't think Mom even wants all of the kids back, just the oldest one, her favored child. These kids deserve stability & love!!

That’s why they have so many kids. If the benefits amounts were capped after two or three children, a lot of these issues including neglect would be reduced drastically. In MN, the amount of money and services per child is nuts. They would be making a lot of money, free rent, food, utilities, day care, schooling plus cash per child. We have people move there because of this.
@ingloriousbetch4302
@ingloriousbetch4302 Жыл бұрын
@lilybugthepatriot7019 benefits are capped once you're on. On the vast majority, if not all, states, you get cash benefits for the kids you have at the time of applying. Any kid born after so many months, 10, i think, of you being on cash aid gets no cash benefits. You could get perhaps food stamps or medicaid but no money. Some states cap the number of kids they'll give you cash aid for from the get go and there's a national cap on how long anyone over the age of 18 can get cash benefits. You get 2 years TOTAL over your lifetime. After that you will no longer get cash benefits no matter what.

It should be that, if you have a child after going on public assistance, all of your benefits get taken away. They shouldn’t be allowed to have more than one, if they do, they should be on their own. Watch how quick these girls learn about birth control. I speak from experience when I say, if you don’t want to have kids, you won’t. People don’t get pregnant by accident, they get pregnant by not trying not to.

So if the case goal is adoption on all kids and these parents are refusing to work any of their treatment plan why in TF are they wasting time and resources dragging this out? This is a huge issue with CPS. They take kids and seem to give parents who have no interest in getting their kids back a ridiculous amount of time to finally do something all while the kids are stuck in limbo and every day they stay there the harder it will be for them to heal. Yet in cases where the parents are doing everything they ask and more they want to drag their feet and move the goal posts seemingly trying to trip them up so they lose their kids. It all comes back to the agency using these kids to get as much state and federal funding as possible. And it just so happens that kids that end up being adopted out get them the most money. It is gross to keep often traumatized children in the system so that they can cash in. If it is clear after 6 months the parents aren't going to be involved fast track terminating their rights and starting the adoption process. But I am afraid they would use that to sever rights of parents who don't deserve it. The system is broken
@Beautiful_Mess

If Mom couldn’t raise five, Mom should’ve not given life to five. It doesn’t appear she truly cares at all about any of the children. What these parents don’t understand is that this situation, these visits, these services, are all temporary. Nobody should have to subject these kids to video visits, and maybe an in person visit when the parents feel like it. 21 months? It’s time to fish or cut bait with these two.

I think, at a certain point, when you have this many kids, and/or they are in the system numerous times and they are not doing the work to get them back, parents need to not be able to breed ever again. Harsh, I know. Too many little ones are being born, on drugs, suffering from SA, beaten and abused and killed.

I agree. If they’re not responsible enough to only bring children into this world when they can afford to take care of them, they should not be allowed to bring children into this world. Don’t have to be sterilized, they have to have their tubes side. If they want them untied, they have to be able to pay for it themselves or have private insurance to pay for it. If they do have it reversed, they should understand that they will get absolutely ZERO public assistance from that point forward. The children can be provided with health insurance and food, appropriate for children. No cash benefits, no insurance for mom, no food for mom, no gas cards or anything else. Only what is appropriate for the children.

Dear God!!!! How much assistance for almost 2 years do deadbeat parents need to receive off the taxpayers back to pull it together for YOUR kids? I'm sorry, but the parents & the kids are being supported by the taxpayers....this is ridiculous! If these parents can't pull it together with all the assistance CPS has offered them in 2 years.....these children need to be adopted into responsible mature homes. These parents should never procreate as they can't manage their own lives...much less, managing children! It begs the question....why is the taxpayer responsible for this ridiculousness? Why are we being made to fund people who are deadbeats? Who funds me? ....I DO!.... BY WORKING A JOB & BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR MY CHILDREN & TAKING CARE OF ALL THEIR NEEDS & SOME OF THEIR WANTS!!! Can't speak to other states, but in CA parents would have both mental health and substance abuse evaluations first, if having no prior history of such assessments before CPS became involved. For example, if someone is experiencing untreated Bipolar disorder, while drinking on top of that, "domestic violence" counseling isn't likely to help much ,although it certainly could be be very helpful after the first two are addressed. As was stated here, it's difficult to prepare a reasonable service plan without these basic assessments.

I gave up on mom, when she canceled a one on one visit because it wasn’t the child she wanted to spend more time with. After assessments, Dad refusing to agree to a CMH (state paid for) treatment plan put me off. Is it the worker’s responsibility to arrange multiple providers for dad to choose a the assessment he likes? No. He was free to seek out another provider and pay for it. IF dad HAD engaged with celebrate recovery vs AA, the CPS/court not have a preference one over other. Not that my opinion matters…but IMO parents just want grandma to get guardianship so they can hold it over her and get their way.

1:00:27 I guarantee it went like this-He got irate because he wasn’t going to see his favourite child on her birthday. He pitched a fit. Threatened to cancel the visit with the two other kids. Calmed his ass down and went ahead with the visit. The worker wrote in the report “He chose to visit with his two children” to document that the visit ultimately happened despite his temper tantrum. He read that and misinterpreted it, thinking she was saying that he chose to only visit with the two and subconsciously threw in the word “only” when he repeated the story. I’d bet my home if we saw the report it would not say “He chose to ONLY visit with two of the children.” He’s not even lying, he just misinterpreted a sentence. Parents whose rights are subject to termination are by law entitled to a court-appointed attorney. These lawyers are literally just doing their jobs.

Lawyers can't really enable you they have to do a good job or they can lose their license or have a case overturned. Unfortunately a lot of lawyers are actually pretty terrible in the court appointed sector. But I suppose they don't want things overturned when it comes to kids so lawyers better be good

You can request those through FOIA. However, there are some restrictions as it relates to minors, victims, etc.

So he expects to be picked up and taken to every appointment. To see his daughter on her birthday, regardless if something else was planned. Mum cancelled visits, because she was tricked into seeing the wrong child. This is about what's best for the kids not the parents.

Oh the poor dad. NOT!! If you wanted to take the services to get your kiddos back, you would have. 😢 Neither parent is serious or seem eager to conclude the CPS case. Watching mom & dad during this hearing, painted a clear picture of both of them. Mom looked like she might painting her toenails most of the time. Dad looked like had zoned out several times. Grow up parents!! 😢really sad for the kids. 😊

What kind of parents are these that get mad when the “wrong” child is brought to visit? Does the father really believe CPS actually would lie about visit schedules? Always someone else’s fault!

If my son was taken away it would be like a god forbid death to me so when I see these parents going threw this process ( no fault but their own) it blows my mind to see these parent's take it so lightly. Nobody has the best interest of a child than a loving , caring parent. I swear some of the look at this time as a relief or break. If it ever happened to me it would be the most intense time ensuring I get my child out. The resources these parents get in.these larger states is insane. In Rhode island just.hpusing is a 10/15 yr wait. Yes Sec 8 is a 10/15 yr wait. So once they get it's for life as long as you follow the rules and a lot don't. They allow others to move in , fail to pay their minimum ( as low as 25$ monthly) or completely trash it. These landlords have to keep these properties to a standard.if someone gave me free housing I would scrub the driveway of needed . Idk I just.dont get it

You have to be really careful in choosing the AA/NA meetings that you go to. My son went to NA meetings with a bunch of people doing their court ordered 30 in 30 meetings. When leaving the meetings they would all go outside and get high. Not a good meeting group.

so let me get this straight......the younger children have a hard time with the 'video visits'..well because of their age NOT because the parent/s are doing something wrong in said visits...but "we do not recommend in person visits" she says at the same time...um....what? 21:59 So its just a simple--write these people off because its such a bother....WHY does CPS work against trying to help young parents in every way possible BEFORE turning to this pompous entity in the courtroom, and actually having adopting out in mind all along.....do these folks get a some kind of kick-back when parental rights are terminated?
@heyitsMD
@heyitsMD Жыл бұрын
They couldn’t recommend in person visits because the parents often don’t show up. When they do, the children are at risk of physical harm because parents can’t safely manage all four kids. CPS is driving them to appointments, giving them gas cards, applying for food stamps…even reminding the parents to write birthday cards! These people are pathetic.

I don't know if he has a drug problem. His drinking may be a problem. These people want you to bend a knee and kiss the ring and do as you are told or your not getting the kids back. I don't see why they have to give any thing to the foster mom, she is collecting a check for her services and if everything works out for the foster mom she will be rewarded with the kids. I am just being honest.

When I see cases like this I see a lot of spiritual issues like demonic issues and strongholds and they can be set free of these but also they need to know they don't have to have children. I have to really do something strange to you to have kids and go through all that and then not want them I mean it's not exactly easy for a lot of us to be pregnant and go through so much and go through the birth and this girl definitely seems like a lot going on mentally if she's that disconnected in it I can't imagine how dramatic it would be to have so many kids and then lose them and whatever else is going on is clearly a lot. Just know that having kids with somebody doesn't mean they'll stay with you and if you went through abuse before and after pregnant that can really do a number on you you can be very disconnected from reality. I hope she just stops having kids and gets herself well mentally. I have nothing to say about the guy, bum.

No, insanity is NOT "doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results". I can think of so many situations where that wouldn't apply. Still like watching your videos, though, and the comments that pop up on the screen. Although I usually am looking away from the screen, working on chores or crocheting, so sometimes don't see them. 🤓
