The story in this pair of keep ups is the one that struggled most in the early challenges will dominate the final challenge. Love seeing these groups of great instructors!

This was fun to watch! Having played both (well softball) it was cool seeing them appreciate the skill and talent of other athletes in a different sport 🤗

As a Dominican kid I played baseball through freshman year of HS and was able to transition to Tennis after 8th grade because Baseball is pretty similar mechanically plus all of the hand eye coordination and athleticism built through baseball. I ended up giving up baseball for tennis end of freshman year and ended up playing D1 Tennis. DR is very Baseball focused but I wish more Dominicans would pick up tennis or at least cross train.

Do you use your dominant hand in tennis or your glove hand?

The instructor should really teach the right grip first. Some of these dudes were trying to hit a forehand with a continental grip lol

I think these baseball players could do a lot better if somebody explained how important spin is. They know what happens when you topspin a ball, and they have an understanding of what kind of movements produce topspin. I think they could have a more intuitive understanding of how to get power out of groundstrokes, and really get better strokes going.

Why does every instructor fail to explain the grip to a beginner? All the elbow stuff is useless with the wrong grip.

yeah the grip is one of if not the most fundamental part.

KZbin gave me this video first, then when I has just started watching, I saw there was a reverse i.e. tennis players trying baseball.. I hope I'm not wrong, but I am sure the tennis players will do much better playing baseball, than baseball players trying to play tennis. Going to watch the former now, and hope I don't eat crow 😅

For beginners, you use 2 hands for a backhand volley, but if you want to become better. It is recommended to use 1 hand!!

Maybe coaching young tots, but not adults. Should always teach one hand to start, just gotta implement the weaker hand by holding the throat and letting go

I played tennis for like 12 years through my childhood and early college days. I've never been able to hit a two-handed backhand. I find the single-handed backhand much more natural and versatile.
