He knows why hurrem send lala mustafa but i think he doesn't know that fahriye is here to kill nurbanu or maybe he's lying to himself refusing to beleive his mother would to that to him

@Leo selim knows everything remember how he left that one girl to spy on his siblings way back at the begining of this season? He's also very calm, manipulative and calculating his problems were alcoholism and self esteem issues nurbanu was the little help he needed to gain some confidence and to keep the drinking issues under control until all competition was gone nurbanu and selim complement eachother perfectly

OH NO THIS IS THE PERSIAN CARPET. IF SOMEONE PLAYED CK3, YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND...
What is nurbanu doing there? She's not allowed to see the lala but oh well in these series, everyone is allowed to see each other. Sad. They even come in and out from the same door, like, what??? I know it's been like that since episode 1 but the scene is boring so I wanted to point it out. They continued calling valide sultan as 'hurrem hatun" even after she gave birth to two princes and nurbanu is addressed 'nurbanu sultan' after giving birth to one baby which is son of a prince, which makes it even worse ... She even wears tiaras and nice cloths. What is this??

I totally agree with your first point. It's beyond ridiculous. However, for your second, it's historically accurate for them to have called her Hürrem Hatun until she's married to Suleiman. Having Şehzades doesn't make you a Sultan at that time. For example, the great Mehmed II's mother was called Huma Hatun, Bayezid II's mother was called Gulbahar Hatun, etc. In fact, the position of Valide Sultan was actually 'Valide Hatun' until it was changed for Suleiman's mother. Suleiman is a bit of an innovator lol

I mean, the show's a hot mess with titles in general, we know this, but, honestly, yeah, the show did that to show people disrespecting Hürrem on purpose whereas I don't think the writers had the same drive or interest to highlight that with Nurbanu. As for her clothes...honestly, I think the wardrobe department by this season had more time to grow into things. (Not to mention, I think the way they dressed Hürrem was purposeful, wanting to portray her as stereotypical "nouveau riche" however silly that is.)

@@Redluna32 Are the dresses in the show historically accurate? They look very european to me.
@Redluna322 жыл бұрын
@@finntastic3363 Oh, the outfits are definitely not historically accurate, but that's often the case with many period dramas. In particular, though, I think a lot of the design choices were used to appeal to a wider audience along with choregraphing a sort of "style" for each leading lady. (From that, it kind of makes sense that for Nurbanu and later with Safiye, we see a lot of European cut gowns.)

@@Ana-gr3wj this person thinks that she is Valide Sultan just because one of her sons will sit on the Ottoman Throne IN THE FUTURE. Weird logic but they won't budge, so just leave him/her to their fantasy
