I just remembered my first trip to Bali. Continental Airlines, HNL to Guam, Guam to Bali. Yikes, getting old. 😂 Green vog, but still Mexico bound . And , yes, travel light, I rent surfboards now ..... Aloha

Agreed. Went to the Philippines to see my now wife and had nothing but a PacSafe backpack that I could carry on. If it wasn't on me or in that, it didn't go. Was already into lightweight, fast-dry shirts, took a few of those and wore Clothing Arts shorts (both these and the backpack are designed to be pickpocket- proof). Very lightweight setup.

@@RetireandGo shirts made for being out in the sun on a boat fishing all day are where it's at... Columbia makes some, but Academy Sports has their Magellan line that are just fine and more affordable, and my personal favorites are from a (I believe) regional retailer we have here called Beall's, and that line is called Reel Legends. Many of these, regardless of brand, will have a lot of pockets and a few loops to hang things on if you wanted to, tend to have a discreet zippered chest pocket that is more or less a hidden pocket, dry very fast, pack well because they can pretty much be thrown in a bag and pulled out and not look wrinkled, and are extremely lightweight and comfortable. I like the collared ones with the long sleeves you can roll up (Saltwater II) because it gives you options and manages to be nice-looking and not too casual, but casual without being too formal. But they have lots of choices. I have one particular one that I've had for many years now that my family jokingly refers to as "my precious", if you get the Lord of the Rings reference. 😆 Tells you how much I love these shirts.

I'm moving there in 6 weeks so I'm sorting through My stuff as your video plays. I'm getting rid of all the things that are very dear to me. there is going to be collateral damage. It won't be the soft landing I dreamt of, things will be sold for pennies on the dollar. Once I got that straight it's been easier. Thank You for the video

I definitely will pack lighter on my second journey next year. I went to Thailand for a month. Never wore long pants once…too hot. And I only ended up wearing 3 extrememly featherweight Costco “32 Degree” shirts. Washed them in the sink everday. They don’t show sweat or wrinkle. I briught way too much “emergency” bs too. I know you wear linen but still amazed you wear collar and long sleeves!

I’m going to shed it all - except for my guns/ammo, and one crate of photos, which I’ll put in a small storage unit, which also helps establish my new residency. Maybe some day I’ll give up the guns - I’m not “into it” - but as things get more restrictive it might be a benefit to hang onto what I have. As for travel, I’ll be traveling with about 8kgs.

Hmmm good question I was surprised that items needed cleaning Storage is not good for items That’s another reason to sell it
