Selling at craft shows is great for handmade businesses. They are a little of work but will pay off in the long run.

Glad the festival was a success. I find it hard to film at markets too. Once the show starts I’m laser focused 😂

Sooner or later, I'm going to have to take a road trip down and see you in person at one of these events! :) Or maybe just come by your shop, but either way it would be so nice to just see another soapmaker in the 'wild' so to speak. I do have some fellows around in my area but it's so hard to really talk to them for one reason or another. This video in particular has been encouraging to say the least because I have not really been too confident in continuing to do events, at least not during this summer this year as last year it was way too hot and humid....

I relate to all of your videos. I make and sell soap and candles. My whole family lives in Toccoa Ga. I am from PA :)

We had a show last Friday and Saturday. Friday the weather was horrible. Major wind and rain and chilly. Literally brought tears to my eyes. Saturday was beautiful and a great day. Sunday I was lucky to unload my car. 😂. The struggle is real.

@@agirlagoat1193 I know you do! We had tents flying and all the craziness. Kinda like you did a couple weeks ago. Hopefully we got all the nasty out for the year. LOL

How do you set up a porch pick up?
@ladybug91714 ай бұрын
I do it through hotplate. It's mainly for food and produce, but soap&candle can be sold also. The only problem is GA heat, there are times in the year when I can't do it because of being too hot and being afraid that my product might melt.

The person calls me with an order…a lot of my loyal customers are in the same town as my daughter (about 35 min from me) and I take their order over the phone and when I go to my daughters house about once a week I take it there & leave the order on her covered porch. I send the an invoice via square or Venmo

The only thing through Hotplate you have to be comfortable people coming by your house. I have set up a shelf/display I got from Hobby Lobby and that is where I put my product - packaged, with appropriate names on them and customers come by and pick up at their convenience. There have been times when I get a lot of traffic in my driveway. But mostly around holidays. And I stress/encourage no shipping/free pick up. It saves everyone money just a drive by. It really depends on your customer base. Some are open to it, some live way out of their way to come by for a pick up.
