This entire video has inspired me to make a mod where I can alter the baby object files to make them sellable on retail venues. update: Turns out babies stop aging or crash the game as soon as they're listed for sale or bought by another family - so either they're just rebellious like that, or I'm really dumb but the good news is they are objects that can be sold so that's confirmed. the bad news is that it WRECKS the game so I'm gonna need to rework most everything that makes up the baby "object" if that's possible

I read a horror series with the exact same plot. Pollution wiped out a towns fertility so they started a baby farm to provide kids to the townsfolk so they wouldn’t sue.

I've read a similar series. But it was a virus not pollution. All the orphaned girls were put into boarding schools where their health was closely monitored and they are basically brainwashed into not trusting men or love and fearing everything outside the gates. When they graduate they are sent to the baby making buildings where they are forced to have multiple pregnancies back to back and then their babies are removed and sold at birth. The orphaned boys were sent to labor camps to provide food and resources needed to rebuild the cities. In the series one girl finds out and escapes. The series is called Eve by Anna Carey

I just envisioned a scenario where Jim gets fooled by Janine's flashy exterior and tries to seduce her for money. Janine, despite being a lesbian, is willing to go with it because she also thinks Jim is super rich and that he's just some old man she can make disappear discreetly. They have a moment of trying to exploit each other, then Jim moves in with Janine and realises she's actually completely broke and lives in a crack house, so he takes over the crack house and builds a basement just to trap her in.
