I have sold wood from a roadside stand for years. I put out the stand in the fall and take it down at the end of winter. This Spring, I started selling bundles and am kicking myself for not doing it sooner!

I was amazed how many people prefer bundles over loose stack . A lot of people come with small suv and cars. Thanks John

Aaron good to see the bundles are moving it’s been pretty slow down here. Things have picked up a little this week though. Take care, Ben.

Thanks for watching Ben! Cooler temp s definitely make for more sales

A couple of ideas that might make your bundling easier; Add a board or a piece of plywood to one end of the rack so you can push the firewood up flush, making the bundle neater. If you move the cross supports that hold up the wood towards the 'outside', which would be between the uprights, not inside them, you will give yourself more clearance for the wrapping. You can use the standard 18: wide stretch wrap rolls and cut them in half with a band saw or sawzall then you can put the wrap on faster and stronger. You can also make labels for your wood and put them under the last layer of wrap.

Those are definitely great ideas! I’m always looking to improve my product. I’ll have to give it a try. Thanks

12x12x16 is 1.3cuft. How much wood volume have you sold in bundles? I sell loose bulk in racks and did pretty good with it during Labor Day weekend. Just hit 978 subs so am almost at the first big milestone! Just learned how to do hyperlapse with music in my editing app. It definitely makes the videos easier to watch when not much is happening in the video. Will be working on more splitting and more cuttinf this weekend. Do you do any loose bulk for the roadside stand? Will look back and check your videos.

I do have a roadside stand and sell 1/16 cord for 25$ . Congrats on your sub count. Mine stopped when I hit 550. No one subs anymore.

@@Aaronzap15, staying consistent on content is a big factor, aka type of content. Some people do well with several types, but usually best to stick to two things say firewood and welding, plus the equipment you use. If had the time, my welding projects would be firewood related such as making squared fire rings.

@@Aaronzap15, my roadside stand had the 16x20 bays in a rack made from pallets, which are 7.2 of those per facecord. Then have 4ft and 8ft racks that measure 0.4 and 0.8 facecord respectively. BUT my roadside stand is 3mi out of town so that gives me options. But am expecting my sales to plummet once camping season ends, as most of my customers seem to be in one of the five or six campgrounds in the area. Do you watch Ohio Wood Burner? Check him out. He just had a video where he's working on, or looking into, selling small bundles of smoking wood for $10 a bundle. That's over $1000 per cord of firewood in sales.

Have a firewood business in Los Angeles, royal firewood, about to start selling bundles, what’s a good amount?
@Aaronzap153 жыл бұрын
I sell larger bundles than most . Mine are just over 1 cubic foot. Usually bundles are around .75 cubic foot
@thefirewooddoctor3 жыл бұрын
You can get an 18pk of 3in by 1000ft stretch wrap things like that on Amazon for $42 or so. For me it would be easier to make .75cuft bundles, sell for $6 or 2 for $5, or bags.
@Aaronzap153 жыл бұрын
Ya I have seen it on Amazon. I like to give them a nice bundle so they tell friends to buy them. Thanks for watching!

Approximately how many logs per bundle
@Aaronzap157 ай бұрын
Those were bigger bundles which I was selling for 8$ each. Probably 12-15 small pieces. Now I sell them for 5$ with 8-10 pieces little bit smaller. They sell like crazy for 5$

Am wondering how much your bundles weigh ? Do you know? How heavy is too heavy?
@Aaronzap153 жыл бұрын
That’s a great question! Never weighed one. If I had to guess probably around 15lb. It depends the species of wood also but usually it’s maple and ash so not as heavy as oak. I should weigh one and see. Thanks for commenting!

I'd consider a roadside stand, but my daughters chicken eggs grow feet and walk away from her stand :(

Ya I’ve had pretty good luck on my stand. Short a couple bucks here and there and a car wash token instead of a quarter. Never know till you try

CT in an area where the old farm land I grew up riding my dirt bike turned into houses that like to pay for split wood then do it themselves

@@Aaronzap15 I’m in northern Maine and this type of thing isn’t really big at Pierre, which is surprising to me, but I’m gonna give it a go probably next year Thanks for getting back to me. I appreciate it. Have a good rest of your season. Same thing happened to me in southern Maine because that’s where I grew up and then we used to ride the powerlines in a lot of trails off the powerlines and people with money from Massachusetts came into this area back in the 70s and 80s changed our whole way of living up here

$8 is that for whole sale? How much for a store?

I don’t sell my bundles to any stores. I have a roadside fire wood stand at my house
